You’re a top 5 forum fool. Nothing you say has any validity. You don’t like the talk radio guys and pundits but are even worse than them. Just a bunch of superficial homer takes.

It’s interesting no one comments about Hauser having the #5 true shooting percentage in the NBA, and in fact he’s the #1 non-C/PF whose game is based on deep shooting. I said he would improve due to the spacing and chemistry.

The Celtics trainers should have had Brown
change his shoes…it was obvious there was some issue with his footwear on that paint because he slid like 5 times. Obvious injury risk.

Great play down the stretch by Cs. Toronto was playing with playoff level intensity and that defense was stifling. They found a way despite Tatum never finding his shot.

Maybe…but he is still in small sample size territory.

He’s 21/64. His career average (42.5%) would put his expectation that he would have made 26 or 27 shots. So it’s possible he’s just the same player with a cold streak to start season or having bad shooting luck that hasn’t had enough time to average out. We’re talking about 5-6 shots being off so it’s hard to say. Like if tonight were the season opener people would be panicking about Tatum’s 3 point shooting and wondering if he’s regressed. So could just be randomness with Pritchard’s low volume, but his career shooting pct isn’t very good to begin with, given his height and you’d expect him to be a better shooter.

I was annoyed Mazulla put him in for first 3 minutes of 4th quarter. I think teams are trying fairly hard in these in-season tourney games, and there’s no reason there in a close game that both White and Holiday are on bench with no foul trouble. That causes Tatum to take on that hybrid point role where he shouldn’t be doing it but is better than Pritchard, and what they used to revert to down the stretch when they’d lose every close game. Changed the momentum and they almost lost.

The “prestige” of it is dumb. The painted court is dumb. But I believe the teams have a mandate from the league to treat these games almost like the playoffs in terms of trying to win and not resting their star players. So while the concept is stupid, I’ve found the games to be of higher quality and effort, especially if you’re sizing up what the Celtics might look like in meaningful games (although the opponent isn’t always playoff caliber.)

Agree my response was overly optimistic…he should be more efficient with the spacing, so it’s more concerning and less likely to be a fluke.

I think of myself as a homer, and a huge Pritchard supporter, but he has been just above serviceable. When you have to get excited about Pritchard's offensive rebounds and not his shooting, something is out of kilter.

Yeah agreed. He's getting his chance, but if there's not an uptick at some point you have to guess Brad will be looking for an upgrade

You're right, I heard Doc Rivers talking on Bill Simmons podcast and he was saying it actually seems to be something the coaches and players might care about. I guess I hope we don't see injuries from that, but you're right that the games will probably be better

It’s funny that you dismiss the season long +/- trend because it hurts your agenda but then go all-in on it when +/- supports it. He was +4 and the small variation among starters is statistical noise rather than the huge gaps I’ve been pointing out.

He did hit some big shots in the 4th quarter and had a decent game.

The gap between Brown and Pritchard is smaller than the gap between Hauser and Brown, but by all means everyone should continue yelling and screaming at the suggestion that the Celtics would be better with Hauser playing more minutes and Brown playing less.

Brown seems to be trending in the right direction, but for some reason, still has one or two of his "dribbling into a double team" episodes per game. His 3 point shot looks a lot better, and I think he looks good when we posts up or takes a mid-range jumper. Still a bit rough around the edges, but I think he looks like he is engaged and supportive of the game plans.
