Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Celtics achilles is going to be their depth. Best starting 5 in the league. Bottom rung second line.

Jaylen Brown is the biggest loser. Lol. Comes into the game with 4 minutes left, tie game, and I already know they're going to lose. Two ridiculously stupid turnovers in ten seconds, then pathetic defense turns into a 4 pt play. 7 pt deficit after 15 seconds of his return. This guy is an absolute clown.
Do these guys actually listen to Mazzulla and take instruction? Or do they just brush him off? I'm assuming Mazzulla has some idea in critical situations, which night be a big "if."

Pritchard came through last night, I've always liked him.

i was thinking this last night. I had it on in the background and looked up to see Kornet in the game and figured we were blowing them out. Nope, he was actually getting time which is troubling.

I didn't get to watch until late- when I turned the game on C's were down 99-93.
So that means I missed the Jaylen Brown debacle. Very worrisome.
If he doesn't ramp up his play especially his decision-making, I don't the C's will have enough to beat Bucks, Sixers and Nuggets.
It's head-scratching.
Anyway thank God for Porzingis, he was money.
At least Tatum has one legit star to take the heat off him.
Jrue and DWhite are great, Brown really has become the weak link ever since late last season.
Whatever is going on with him, he needs to get his **** together pretty quick.

Tatum, Porzingis, Holliday, White, (anyone other than Brown) is a championship lineup

Watched my 1st full Celts game in a few years...

-J's were sloppy but Tatum looks next level
-All these moving screens, really?
-Kudos to the ref who ran in btw Bron Hartenstein to diffuse
-KP on both ends of the floor!
-Glad Jaylen is getting his crap play out of the way - yuck
-Doris Burke couldn't be further away than what I like but she just does it for me.

I must say this 'Randomness' 'Iso" offense kind of sucks to watch IMO.

Tatum's handle is unbelievable now. Problem is he knows it, and tries to push the envelope some times.

When Jrue starts to settle into his role, Brown will be the 4th best player on this team. KP has already passed him up.

Other than the top 6, Hauser, Pritch, and or Kornet have to step up for depth. Hauser can't be missing wide open 3s. that's the only reason he's still on the team.

Watching the last two games I think there’s something to the idea that their long term late game struggles were tied to not having a real point guard. What a difference it makes with Holliday keeping his composure down the stretch. Not to dump on Smart more but he never commanded the offense and the final minutes were usually a disjointed crap show with Tatum playing a weird hybrid point guard role.

Good all - around performance. Great game from DWhite.
Very solid game from Brown after a few miscues early in the game.
Miami is still a very tough team.
So solid win.
Chemistry will only improve. It takes time.

Brad will make a move to fortify the bench at some point. Good start though

2 female announcers wasn't terrible, but I didn't love it. Is that sexist?

Random thought--I don't like the "DEFENSE" chant. It's too structured. Just make a ****-ton of noise when the other team has the ball. More effective, gives the home team more energy.

Great win. Barter Brad put together a darn good starting 5. FTs are still frustrating.

Miami shot nearly 50% on 3s. That is what always happens when the Celtics lose to them. If Herro, Robinson etc are burying those shots the Heat win.

It’s impressive the Celtics were still able to win by 9 (actually hit the point spread right on.)

Won by 8 actually.

Last year's team probably loses both of these first 2 games. At least this Miami one for sure.

Did you notice Porzi did not play at the end? Going small and Adedayo was attacking Porzi.

This team is fun to watch. Brown was good. Won't, but could go 82 - 0. I don't think Danny puts this team together. It will be interesting to see team chemistry as the season goes.
