Celtics 2021

Is anyone else annoyed Brown and Tatum played in the All Star game? Brown missed a game or two leading ups to the game and Tatum recently complained about recovering from Covid. I kind of wish they took the time off. I also didn't want them to play because I don't want the Kyrie Irving's and James Harden's of the world in there ears scheming up how to form the next super team.
no, they should play. It is a great honor for those 2 young players and they should enjoy the experience. Who knows, maybe they were the ones doing the scheming trying to get others to Boston.

I know Beal said something about St. Louis guys sticking together. Maybe Tatum recruits him to Boston. Not sure where that leaves Brown.

How many playoff games has Beal won?

Evan Fournier for 2 2nd round picks will help reduce the load for Brown who has something up with his knee

landing both Gordon and Fournier will be a big help as long as they don't trade Smart away

Curious to see how Danny works the money.
Combined, Gordan and Fournier make $35.136 mill
Boston's trade exemption = $28.5 mill + $100k allowance
If balancing trade is simply staying within above parameters, simple math shows Ainge will need to shed $6.536 mill
Will he send off a Nesmith or a Langford? Dump Teague? Try to shed Thompson and his 1+ year remaining contract, unload one of the many dead wood pieces on the bloated Boston/Maine roster?

Answer could already be out there as a type my screed.

Thrilled with idea of getting to get some competent vets who can score

Fournier is an expiring contract....apparently, it doesn't require use of the TPE and they can proceed for Gordon separately

EDIT....they're using part of the TPE

looks like gordon is going to the nuggets for gary harris, rj hampton, and a 1st round pick......maybe we can get denver to send us micheal porter jr for nesmith and a #1

At least Ainge is consistent, another finesse jump shooter who doesn't pass, rebound, or defend.

they better make some moves and improve this team in the off season then. Save that exemption and use it this off season. Hopefully Fournier helps the team and i have no use for 2nd round picks anyway...so not a bad deal i guess. Typical underwhelming but I don't think this Celtics team is going anywhere in the playoffs. There is just something off about them and cant put my finger on it

do people actually still watch the NBA?

Don’t see the logic of moving Theis

I don't. I cant even have it on in the background. Its become uninteresting now. I can have baseball, golf, soccer, NASCAR on in the background and glace up every now and then. I would much rather attend in person. The only sports i am glued to the TV are Football, Hockey, and March Madness.

Why are you even posting in this thread if this is your comment?

From what I read it’s a few things. Getting under the luxury tax, unlikely to resign in the offseason. Goes over my head a bit. I hate to lose him but it is what it is.

I don’t really think you watch Fournier. He isn’t special in terms of passing or defending but he isn’t a liability on those ends. He’s an average NBA defender. Regardless he immediately fills a need by providing scoring and consistent shooting which should take some pressure off Brown & Tatum.

Fournier will make a difference for us. Fournier is a legit player who scores 20 ppg and means we aren’t relying on Semi/Grant Williams. Obviously he doesn’t move the needle that much but we should actually start winning some games and being competitive in the playoffs.

Meaning the talent is there to be a tough out. The question is whether they can get their **** together in other regards. It’s not just talent that is responsible for the struggles.

i don't pay much attention to the celtics anymore but it seems to me that Ainge trades for players that are the same talent level as the ones hes trading. So the celtics are forever just running in place.
