Cracked ribs and broken ribs are the same thing. "Broken" isn't actually in the orthopedic response. It would be called a fracture of some kind.

Not going to argue medicine, just reiterating what he told me... in reality do not understand most of the subtleties.. he was in a hurry as he had to be on TV about the Welker stuff..

Quite a few media members were questioning it. Of course, that doesn't matter to people who can't grasp simple realities like "Faulk sat out the game".

I had some vague recollections about Casserly from the tail end of his Houston days and since Bill is somehow now the logical choice to not get the benefit of the doubt here i did a little digging. Seems he'd always been a somewhat pompus ass and folks like that aren't generally the type to own up which usually means they've thrown a few people under the bus along the way. Dom Capers would be one of those.

Charlie rose up through the ranks in DC and had some success as a GM before the legendary HOF HC departed. Thereafter it was all downhill. And he was sued by a potential buyer for the Redskins (who lost out to Snyder who had promised to keep Charlie on but soon reneged ) over some sort of shenanigans that he felt cost him the franchise...

He was then hired to launch the expansion Texans and we all know how that went although somehow lately he gets residual credit for a pick most texans insiders claim he had nothing to do with (although he is apparently the kind of guy who would take credit for any success while shifting blame onto the coaches for any failure).

Sounds like a guy Bill wouldn't like just on principle. Add to that his position on the competition committee, something a guy predisposed to currying media favor should never be considered for, and I think I'm on to something... For all his self importance, he supposedly left Houston to persue a league job that never materialized. I think it was commissioner...

reading all of this makes me want to go back and find out exactly what Belichick denied of what Casserly said...did he say he was wrong about the ribs being broken or did he say he was wrong about when they were broken...or did he say he was wrong about something else...

everything we know about BB says he would never get caught in a dumb lie...so he's calling Casserly out on something but I just don't know what.

Has any of you ever HAD a broken rib, let alone supposedly THREE of them. Rolling over in bed is something you try to avoid with broken ribs, let alone play a football game. Let alone try and throw a football with any accuracy. I'd believe bruised ribs, but playing NFL football with BROKEN ribs is beyond the realm of reality

All these guys just throw sh!t against the wall and see if any sticks. In those rare instances that they are call on it, the simply restate their case even louder. When it looks like they are wrong, they continue to "say it ain't so". and when finally there can be no doubt that they are wrong, they simply ignore the fact that they made the original statement.

Bruised ribs and broken (anything but severley broken) feel the same and it does suck, but it's manageable. The hardest part is breathing. The difference is that when you push against your rib cage, you can hear cracking. Sadly, I have a lot of experience with it. That's not to say it doesn't suck, but Brady had a hernia in 2005 and still played.

Saw my Orthopedic Doctor, he is the team doctor for the Providence Bruins and Brown University... aside from the gloom and doom about Welker, said no way Brady could be cleared or play with three broken ribs...

Dont even need a dr for that... it's common sense.

I have had a cracked rib, and the pain was BRUTAL. It hurt to breathe. Three broken ribs would keep Superman sidelined. Brady is a tough customer... but NOBODY is playing NFL football with three broken ribs. that's ridiculous.

McNabb played with broken or cracked ribs, can't remember which..... I've had one big incident that gave me broken Ribs. "it certainly does suck" (name that movie????), what compounds it more is when the the lung is punctured.

In his role as a Stooge, Moe took everything seriously and didn't have a sense of humor either. But, I still suspect Casserly's problem goes back to poor potty training.

Bill doesn't like any of those who were members of the (Non-)Compettiion Committee during the Good Old Days of 2001-04: Casserly, NaPolian, the Fisher king, Dungheep. He obviously didn't appreciate their attempts to feminize the game (in favor of PayaTon) by placing a Point of Emphasis on DB-WR contact. Who knows; maybe there were other issues which preceded even that particular conflict.
