The teams with Franchise QBs are licking their lips right now

Here's the thing that happens with cap inflation: All the teams have more money to spend so agents increase how much their clients cost to sign in free agency or to re-sign.

Right, but wait until you see what the next big contract for a franchise quarterback is going to cost!

Holy smokes. Not sure how to feel here, now everyone will have money.

What does this project us compared to early projections?

My initial reaction to this news is that it would help teams that are in a poor cap situation. Now they have less cap casualty moves to make, can maybe retain a player they would have otherwise had to let go.

Teams that were already in a good cap situation now have more teams competing for the pool of free agents. And because some teams will now be able to re-sign a free agent due to having more cap space, that pool of available free agents could get smaller.

The winners with this news are the players. More players receiving a higher contract, and fewer getting released.

Probably thank Taylor Swift for the increase, I know Goodell will.
Chiefs should too on their push for a 3-peat and being handed a more lenient cap situation.

Thats always going to keep going up but with this increase teams are most likely to eat the cap instead of pushing it down the road.

Hurts the patriots alt. Minimizes their cap soace advantage and will make it harder to sign their targets. BB’s cheapskate cP spending approach never paid dividends
Agree on the first statement. Tee higgins price will skyrocket. Makes sense to franchise tag onwenu and sign him to a more optimal contract next year .

Once we cut J.C. Jackson, we should be ahead of The Commanders regarding available Cap Money (that's not taking into account players that Washington could cut which would free up more cap money). Even then, depending upon players that we could trade away, we could still be in the top spot cap wise. It would appear that Higgins and Pittman Jr. will not be available for us this off season, as their current teams have enough money under the cap to tag them.

It's basically a guarantee juju and Parker have thier contracts "revised "
I really hope that your right! They're getting paid way to much for way too little production (and that's when they're not injured).

I'm with you lol. I hope I'm right too! I admit I've been critical on our WRs.. under AVP everyone will be given a clean slate. From what I understand we will have thr west coast offense. Basically what the Browns ran last season. I'm all for anything that equates to scoring points. So this season we will see who shines and who doesn't.

Worth mentioning that even with this increase, the Bills are still about $42 million over the cap and the Dolphins are about $38 million over.

Yep, both are screwed, and I would love to see them get a new deal with Barmore done, and sign Christian Wilkins. They already have a strong secondary, and nothing screws up opposing QB’s like pressure right up the middle.

11 million apy isn’t bad, but neither can stay on the field, so I’m fine with letting both of them go.

I think it’s enough cap to cut JUJU and Parker and just eat the cap hit.

I want Michael Pittman, Gabriel Davis, Kenny Lockett.

This why when people got hysterical of Mahomes big 10 year contract a lot of the more savvy analysist thought it was a brilliant move. The big cap hits were all later and were always going to be minimized by the cap increasing each year. There might be 2 tough years in the middle before it catches up. But it becomes a steal pretty quickly. If you are able, you should lock down young preemium talent years out because they'll be under market towards the end of that contract.

The cap increases for all 32 teams, the teams over the cap still have a lot of work to do. The teams under the cap will have more room to maneuver.

Bottom line is, as the cap rises the salaries for all free agents will rise... player agents are very aware of this increase.

The Pats are in a great position, they need to take advantage of it by spending and drafting well.

Big reward for teams that spend to the cap as it should be
