Greetings fellow champions. I'm lookin to get into the Draft more this year and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good Patriots prognosticators. I understand there are reporters out there who have hit on a few Pats picks. Though I imagine I should just memorize all the Rutgers players who are in the draft.

No, it's an exercise in futility. You might be able to find someone to predict the 1st round, but after that the unpredictability is out of control and 99% of predictions are wrong.

Analyzing talent with some efficiency is possible, predicting the draft past about pick 15 is a fools errand IMO.

Felger and Mazz's big board.

Seriouslay, they nail a pick every season by throwing a marker at a draft guide. It's probably as accurate as anyone else out there.

IDK many sources. The draft section of this forum is a good place to start though.
Oh and by the way, I did predict Cyrus Jones for whatever that is worth lol.

Cool, thanks peeps.

I haven't ever really been able to get into the draft too much. Probably something to do with the Pats always picking near the end of each round. Rarely do we ever get a shot at a "big time prospect". Not that we haven't found more than our fair share of diamonds in the rough. But, diamonds in the rough don't make for good draft talk as they're just coal at that point.

There's a whole sub-section dedicated to the draft right here on the forum. @Off The Grid and @manxman2601 are two of my favorite posters as it pertains to the draft. Enjoy.

It'll change alot if they trade Jimmy lol.

For later picks ask yourself did they

A. Play lacrosse
B. Play rugby
C. Attend the naval academy
D. Rutgers Alum

Thank ye kindly for the mention, Brother Supe!!

Frankly, my occasional Contributions, ere the last few Years, are dwarfed by those of Brother Manx, as limited Time has compelled me to focus most'f my Work on my Blog, but I hope, some day, to recommence a more active Participation.

There are many good resources at your fingertips with a single google search but the player analyses are mostly useless if you are patriots fan, because most "experts" have no idea what the patriots are looking for any particular player or at a particular position. I think that most of us can agree that they like the following types of players: captains, players who play for BB's good friends, players who can play multiple positions and player who have top 3 cone times. Other than that, who really knows.

A good rule of thumb is if you like a player and want the patriots to draft him, cross him off your list. This is why the lead up to the draft is always more exciting and enjoyable than the draft itself. On occasion, BB will draft a "name player" that you lust after and when that occurs, it is glorious.

The last player I wanted the Pats to draft, and it actually happened, was Vince Wilfork......miracles do happen

Many of our draft guys on this board have a very good sense of the traits that the Patriots prioritize. We might not get the right player (I've only ever gotten 2 in the official @patchick draft contest, but I should have gotten 3 one year if I didn't change it last minute!!) but we usually have narrowed down our lists to the right type of player. Often we'll have a grouping of 4 - 5 guys at each position that we've come to a rough consensus on, and the drafted players will be among that pool. Of course, we miss the mark just as much as anyone, but at least we're evaluating with the Patriots in mind.
