It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Technically he has no choice because the new team is taking over his contract, which is already signed, sealed and delivered.I tried posting in the other thread, but go no answers.
So I was wondering, can Moss say no teams that want to pick him up or does he have no choice at all?
It seems to have worked for him when he told the Vikings, Raiders, Patriots and Vikings again, that if you make me stay here you will regret it.Technically he has no choice because the new team is taking over his contract, which is already signed, sealed and delivered.
However, this being Randy Moss and all, I suppose he could put out an APB telling all interested parties "If you claim me, you will regret it."
Can someone tell me about differences in rules waving a veteran vs a younger player? I recall that seniority has its privileges.
can moss not report to the team that picks him up off of waivers
If a player is a vested veteran and they were on a team roster for game 1, their contract is guaranteed.
He can say no, but that would be a win for whoever claims him. That means you keep him away from a rival for free. I just hope that he's done enough to scare teams off that he passes waivers. That would allow him a chance to re-sign with the Pats at a major discount (one can hope!) AND force Chilly's Vikings to pay the rest of his 2010 salary. Free Randy Moss!
That's widely reported, but it's not quite correct. The rule is that a player can claim the "severance pay" once. So, for example, if he had been cut before, and claimed the guaranteed salary, he would not be eligible to do so now (similarly, if he claims it this year, he can't claim it in the future).
Why?if he goes to the jets..........i may cry
