* Harrison, Wayne, and Stokely each had 10 TD catches that year...another "gag" record...Plus Manning just avg 3.0625 TDs a Game. 5 games of 2 TDS, 1 game of 1TD and the last was an egg against the donkeys, you might say hey, he threw six on thanksgiving day, but against the Lions come on?....plus the 3 - 5TD and 2 - 4TD games avg out with the 7 low ones.
So who's not to say that Moss, Stallworth, and Welker (or Insert list here of WRs) will not accomplish the same feat?
......and hold on to your hats but dare I add Marino's record of 5,084 yards in a season? that might be a bit much to hope for, but It would be cool to see 2 records go down in one season, this of course can only happen if the majority of the offensive line, Brady, and receiving core stay healthy threw out the season. Maybe in Madden.
Ok, I will put this to the board for dissection:
With our plethora of newly stocked receiving core what are the possibilities of #12 throwing 50 TDs this season to top Laser-rocket-arm commercial-boy? Now before you start to think I am driving the Homer bus out of Foxboro, In all realm of possibility?

Is that the game where Houston still had their starters in, were calling TO's, and blitzing (or something to that effect?)I've seen the Colts up on Houston by 20, at home, with 5 minutes left in the game and Manning is still throwing homerun bombs. You can call it running up the score, you can simply call it running the offense. Whatever you call it, it is not something the Patriots do.
If the season goes the way we all hope, there is no need for Brady to have close to 50 TDs. And while we have upgraded our WRs remarkably this offseason, let's not now pretend it is the best group in NFL history and that records will surley fall.

Man, the offseason is way too long.
I eagerly anticipate the "Can Maroney Run for 2,500 Yards?" thread.
Hey man, I just posted it for some discussion, I never came out and said oh yah! mannings record is going down!........ aaah no.Haven't read every post in this shocking NE thread, but Laser took perhaps a SINGLE SNAP in the DONKS game, sparky:

But, here's what he did to them the following week:
http://www.jt-sw.com/football/boxes/index.nsf/Games/2004-post-wc-den-ind
27-33 for 457 and 4 td's, + a rushing td.
funny, stat boy gets laid to waste by NE fan, yet NE fan wonders if TB can break the record
Interested to see how many of your NE bretheren throw you under the bus.
