When did I say trade 5 picks for a worse QB? Making things up again.I'm so glad the Patriots didn't adopt ring6/andy's crazy advice and trade away 5 first round picks for one of the other 4 worse QBs. This ended up perfect for the Patriots and I was so glad that Mac fell and the Pats got the right guy despite not tanking the season for a higher pick last year
Thatt's right, he's growing vegetables on his hat.No, Cam is not wearing reindeer antlers for his interview!
uhhhhh.......who's Cam Newton?
oh yeah......dude sucks
I think this is a unique topic, as Cam Newton's interview today adds fuel to the fire beyond his release, and suggests more to the nefarious possible nature of the Pats organization or various sleazy people inside Foxborough (not to mention toxic Boston media).
- Cam says in retrospect it was all set up, irrespective of being out 5 days, because he was only getting a dozen snaps a day. Mac would get 2nd team snaps but then go back and get 1st team snaps every day.
- Says he went to Atlanta for a medical trip to get his foot (lisfranc) checked out. Said the whole travel plan was authorized by the Patriots staff. Said he did what the Patriots approved and was surprised then he had to sit 5 days (during which time Mac had high visibility that week including against the Giants).
Echo'ing a good comment @venecol made elsewhere: "If that's true, it makes me think someone was definitely trying to paint Cam in a poor light to justify his release. They leaked to media that people were livid inside the organization about his missing practice. Wow, that's pretty sleazy. WTF is going on in that building?"
It does sound like some people in the Pats building are being sleazy (not BB or Kraft). The Ninkovich comments were total bush league. Skip Bayless' criticism was spot on here in terms of a broader narrative, not exactly the best look for Boston. And whoever supposedly leaked the crap rumor to Ninkovich, the not knowing the playbook garbage rumors, is also a human POS.

Why would the Pats want to set up Cam? It's not like they had to appease the fanbase who wanted him gone anyway.I think this is a unique topic, as Cam Newton's interview today adds fuel to the fire beyond his release, and suggests more to the nefarious possible nature of the Pats organization or various sleazy people inside Foxborough (not to mention toxic Boston media).

That completely explains why he sucked. I think he was in on it the whole time. We really need a Tebow or Newton ? Thread. And then we need a “ Who did Belichick F*ck Worse? Poll.
So when do you report a story and when do you bury it?My main thought on all of this is Nink should have stfu'd. I think Cam's play said enough, nobody questioned the decision. We all were like "oh damn, ok, makes sense though," and then Nink - who, as the article states, didn't support Cam (not saying you have to, but it's not the hottest look to have a gossip take on someone you have a track record of not liking) - and sells a single shade of commentary. I don't give a damn that he was a Patriot once.
I'm not doubting that the Patriots staff could've been more forward - but I dunno, Nink chirping in is annoying as hell. Shut up, man. Just shut the **** up. Dude became nothing more than the reporter that BB tries so hard to fight against and keep out of player's ears. "wElL mY SoUrCeS SaIiiD...!!"
No one else wanted him in 2020. No one else wanted him in 2021. No one else wanted him when he was cut.
No one is going to want him if their starter is injured.
He stinks. All of the other 31 teams knew it and belichick was the last one needing convincing and he’s there now.
Spinning and backpedaling everytime you get caught and look foolish. New screen name, same liar.Facts are facts. Newton said it himself.
That's right. I'm so glad one of the most worthless abrasive zero-original-thoughts-ever posters has now chimed in. Go read some more social media to figure out what to think.

I never, never say this, but this was one exception. Bayless was race baiting and it was such a ridiculous take. It was stirring a pot that didn't exist. Cam admitted in multiple interviews he still didn't have a great grasp of the offense pre snapI think this is a unique topic, as Cam Newton's interview today adds fuel to the fire beyond his release, and suggests more to the nefarious possible nature of the Pats organization or various sleazy people inside Foxborough (not to mention toxic Boston media).
