Given what's at stake, it takes a special breed of idiot to remain a fan of a division rival. Those of you defending such people have some serious problems with logic and reason.

We had two Ford Plants here in Louisville and I've had friends that worked there. Let's just say that an employee had better not pull a Chevy into the employee parking lot. Bad things have been known to happen.


Many fans don't want to hear and definitely don't want to believe that it's "just a job" to a guy they drafted with the #1 overall pick and handed a ton of money to. Especially a guy who is the "Face" and leader of their franchise.

Someone how buys a ford isnt going to have hundreds of thousands, and potentially millions of fans wondering if because he drives a ford, hes sabotaging chevy.
Cam is the QB of the Panthers, that would be like if the CEO of chevy was buying fords.

I have to say, there is a special kind of happiness I feel inside when our usually classy leader TB12 says "I hate the Jets" once or twice a year. Living close to Buffalo, I also supremely enjoy when he smack talks hotels in that city... it's a great day for radio when it happens.

I feel sorry for a fan of another team that doesn't get to experience that breed of "neener neener" joy because their QB is too stupid to realize that the second you became a leader in that division, it was your duty to drink the Hatorade and rep your team.

That boy should hate division rivals to his core regardless of how he felt before. If you want to win your division the quickest way is for the teams in it to lose all their games. Rooting for anything less would be a sign of a serious mental disorder.

What happens if Atlanta is going to play Carolina late in the season and the playoffs for the Falcons are on the line while Carolina is already eliminated from the postseason....does Cam throw the game?...some Panther fans may think so.

It was really dumb for him to admit, but I'm sure a lot of players have a special place in their hearts for a team they grew up rooting for about as passionately as we do ours.

That said, I SERIOUSLY doubt any of this means he'd throw a playoff game against Atlanta. Sounds clear that he's not a fan of them when playing against them when they meet twice a year, and I doubt that would change if they met a third time in the post season.

I doubt many of the dozens of Panther fans in existence are that worried about it.

It really isn't that unrealistic, and your analogies are terrible. His own personal career as a quarterback is directly affected by how bad the Falcons do. Not to mention when he is eventually cut by the Panthers how other teams are going to weigh his fandom and stupidity in any contract offer they are going to give him, especially NFC teams.

I said if the Panthers were ALREADY eliminated from the postseason and the Falcons had to WIN their game against the Panthers to get into the playoffs,would Cam throw the game and have his team lose another just to let Atlanta get in?

It would mean a great deal to fans of both teams and Vegas in terms of gambling on the game.

I've been a football fan for well over three decades. I understand why some people would have a problem with making a comment like that, but I just don't. Also, keep in mind that he was talking from the platform of HIS event in Atlanta to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the time, too, if that makes any difference. Bet ya he was ASKED the question.
