Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

Good signing. I wonder what we are going to do to improve ourselves?

I'd have to think NE's first priority is to keep their own guys around (Moss). The Bills didn't have any starters or anybody significant (except really good special teams players) to re-sign. Which means they can work on signing other guys.

There's also rumors that Ernest Wilford is in Buffalo right now, as is Marcus Stroud for a possible trade. I guess Ben Troupe is visiting Buffalo this weekend as well. Sorry, I'm lazy, maybe I'll post some links later - most of this is on rotoworld.com. Mostly they're rumors anyway.

Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

good, our O line will be able to take some revenge on mitchell

Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

Solid guy I guess but "Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?" ?

Who the hell do you think this is, Lawrence Taylor ? Mitchell's not exactly a guy you game plan around.

Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

I watched all but 1 Giant game last year and Mitchell was inconsistent overall, at best. At times, especially down the stretch he played well, but most games he was less than average. He can't cover anyone.

Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

Id say a Haggins , Hobson or Bailey would be some solid addtions to the LB crew..

Pace would be good, put looks like Parcels is on a spending spree..

Sorry I didn't word it correctly for you. I was trying to put the signing into a thread while making it NE related.

Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

Can we get a thread for each marginal LB we have to face twice a year?

The Buffalo Bills have reached an agreement with New York Giants free-agent outside linebacker Kawika Mitchell, The Buffalo News has learned.

Meanwhile, former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud of the Jacksonville Jaguars is scheduled to visit the Bills today. Stroud is not a free agent but has been given permission from the Jaguars to seek a trade.

Mitchell, 28, is a five-year veteran who started 16 games for the Super Bowl champions last season. He's 6-foot-1 and 253 pounds. He figures to be an immediate upgrade at strong-side linebacker for the Bills' defense.

Watch out for that LB core with Poz Mitchell and Crowell most likley moving to weak, this is a HUGE upgrade

Re: Buffalo signs LB Kawika Mitchell...

Haha, be careful. I already posted this and people seemed to get pretty upset about new threads being made for "marginal linebackers" being signed to other teams.

Settle down Buffalo made a very good signing and will have a soild LB core

If they have a solid LB core, it will be in spite of Mitchell, not because of Mitchell.

Hardly upset, just seems like a pointless exercise. Just because he was on a Super Bowl team doesn't change the fact that he's been an average player throughout his career.

So are you posting similar comments in the Kelley Washington and Lonnie Paxton threads? Just curious.

Just thought people might be interested in what the rest of the division was doing. If he's that bad, maybe you should be happy about the signing.

Difference being those players were signed by the PATRIOTS.

I don't particularly care that there was a thread made about the signing; I was just making light of the overwrought title "Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year"?

The Dolphins just signed Jason Ferguson, so that would be like me making a thread called "Will NE now be facing Jason Ferguson twice a year"?

Re: Buffalo signs LB Kawika Mitchell...

I think it's a good signing for Buffalo...

Re: Will NE now be facing Kawika Mitchell twice a year?

He isn't as good as Takeo Spikes was, so I see no story here. Kawika Mitchell wasn't part of the unit that gave us fits, Justin Tuck, Umenyiora, and Strahan were. It's a good thing the bills signed Mitchell instead of someone good.

:ditto: That's great that he went to the Bills...now we can beat them even worse then we did this year. He's really not very good.
