Not buying it. They've had rest. It's not like they've played 10 games in 11days.

I guess I need to adjust my assessment of what a draining schedule is. I thought 8 games in 10 days was brutal but yeah, 10 in 11 would be worse.

Rangers have never had a 1st or 2nd overall pick like the blackhawks and penguins. I have little respect for those teams because they tanked to get Toews/Kane and Crosby/Malkin. Gotta hope they get Rasmus Dahlin, but that's a pipe dream.

It bothered me the most after the lockout season, when they did the draft lottery and the Rangers had a great shot at Crosby. Instead, they got the 16th pick or something like that, and the Penguins got #1. This was the second time in their history that a franchise altering superstar dropped into their lap right before they folded. That town can't sustain hockey without a transcendent player, and they've been miraculously "saved" twice now (by Lemieux and Crosby).

they haven't had more than one day off in a row for a month. check the schedule. they have had no rest what so ever. and then there are the ridiculous injuries they have had. saying they took their foot off the gas. and they have had rest is what a casual fan would say who isn't really paying attention. 8 games in 10 days. thats brutal.

I tend to agree the schedule is brutal.

I see them skating well and have executed in important moments (see Philly).

Maybe it's mental drain but they have refocused when it mattered.

It's his only recourse since no penalties are called when he is mauled on the ice. Not saying he doesn't deserve his rep as a pain in the *** who will throw his elbow or his hip around too much, but it's obvious that the league has put out the word that mugging Marchand will have no repercussions (other than whatever he can get away with himself, which isn't much these days).

I'm really not trying to be difficult, but I don't think either of your statements are true. Sure teams pick up more fans when they win, but IMO the numbers don't more than double in size.

One place where you can see a major uptick in the numbers though is with the non-sports mediots. When a Boston sports team is winning, all of a sudden they become fans.
