Browns on Beating the Patriots

More from the article:

If you're hunting for disrespect, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Yeah, it's pretty much "if everything you try succeeds, well, then you'll be succeeding." BUT, I still give a lot more credence to any analyst who says to drop 7 against Brady rather than calling for constant blitzes. You used to hear the latter a lot more.

Spot on. I always find it fascinating to hear the mediots say "get pressure on Brady with 4 guys and drop 7 into coverage, hit him, make him uncomfortable and he's just a mediocre QB."

Well, gee, what a shocking revelation. Get pressure on the QB without any blitz packages and drop 7 into coverage so you can double team Gronk/Edelman? If only the rest of the league knew this secret formula.

Is there any QB that would be better than "mediocre" in the above circumstances? Teams have been trying to figure out how to stop the Patriots for the past 16 years. Developing a gameplan for a desired result and executing to achieve the desired results are two different animals.

This akin to commentators compelled to say things like " Well ya know, I think the team that scores the most points, will win this game!"
I don't know what I would do without such keen insight.

If the decision does not get overturned I am going to this game.

Same here, SBB. I have a wedding to attend that weekend which is about an hour away from Cleveland, so I'm taking advantage of the opportunity. As an out of town fan, I don't get many chances outside of Pittsburgh or Cleveland.

As far as the article goes, I see nothing wrong with it; after all, the past 2 match ups have proven that the Browns can get pumped up for this situation.

So, if the Browns shut down the run game, but also have enough guys in coverage to lock everyone down, and also hit Brady repeatedly, and only if Brady hasn't played and is rusty, then they "MIGHT have a chance."

Got it...

The Browns are one of a handful of teams that still has an all-time winning record versus the Patriots. Of course part of that is due to all the original Browns' records staying in Cleveland rather than following the move to Baltimore.

When Belichick's Browns defeated Parcells' Patriots in the playoffs following the '94 season, the Pats were just 3-11 versus Cleveland. Since then Cleveland has only won twice: in 2000, and the 2010 Peyton Hillis disaster.

The Browns may be optimistic since they are playing at home. Since 2002 they own the NFL's worst road record at 44-68. However, the Patriots have the best road record from 2002-15 (76-36).

Best Road Records, 2002-15:
76-36 ------ New England Patriots
70-42 ------ Indianapolis Colts
65-46-1 ---- Philadelphia Eagles
62-50 ------ Pittsburgh Steelers
61-51 ------- Green Bay Packers

Worst Road Records, 2002-15:
44-68 ------ Cleveland Browns
45-67 ------ Oakland Raiders
49-63 ------ Detroit Lions
51-61 ------- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
52-60 ------ Washington Redskins
52-60 ------ St.Louis Rams

So the Browns plan on slowing down Brady by stopping the run? Thats logical

50 burger in the mistake by the lake

Wait - Now the most pitiful organization in all of sports, the Cleveland Clowns are going to beat the Pats? I refuse to read this thread as I fear I may laugh so hard my stomach will hurt.
