They will hire Harbaugh and blow even more lead in the 4th quarter.

Or they will go after Daboll
Too late, Harbaugh is gone. But to fire McDermott and promote the guy who didn't get Josh any help seems ...well, really stupid.

Rex Ryan pitched this. Go get BB as head coach and Eric Bieniemy as OC and this team gets nasty fast. I think BB would do it just to screw Kraft.

When I remember the Billy goats got bounced again, and then I hear they fired their HC, again.. Meanwhile the Pats and Vrabel are in the AFCC.

Bill Belichick has a very small buyout with UNC so he is essentially an unrestricted free agent if he wants to be. That's kinda what happens when you fire a guy. He can take any NFL job anyone offers him.

In no way does it "screw Kraft" if he ever actually gets and accepts an offer. It will sure make the divisional rivalry more spicy for a couple years, but we've been down that road before and it's no big deal.

Hiring McDaniels would screw the Patriots far, far more than hiring Belichick.

Absolutely his fault given that the playcall was undoubtedly for Josh to run around holding out the ball for anyone who wanted it. Definitely the coach's fault.

Seriously - the MMQB about that choice is killing me. He's supposedly the #1 or #2 QB in the league and somewhere in the top 100 or 50 all time QBs. Two quick passes to get into FG range and people are gonna be glazing Josh's nuts.

But Josh plays moronic hero ball and it's the coach's fault? I say this as someone who really enjoys Allen and is glad he's in the league, but he's good for some real himbo plays when the game is on the line.
Yes, Allen is also to blame, but with no time outs, there is really no chance to get into FG range. It's the head coach's job to weigh the best options. In this case, the odds of getting into FG range with no time outs were slim to none and the bad outweighed the good The only chance was a long side line pass which Den had covered. Anything deep over the middle, time would have expired. Knowing his QB sometimes is a bonehead, maybe it should have been explained to him, if not there, throw it away, you can't run.

Kind of regretting kicking out GreenCow right now. It'd be a lot of fun.

Pretty sure Ross only excluded her from the post game thread as she was trolling other threads afterwards

Yep. This year was their perhaps their best opportunity with Mahomes and Jackson out of the tournament. Plus with the Pats winning the division, I’m sure the owners felt like they are now behind the curve (which they are of course). They need a new voice and a fresh perspective.

I feel the same. He did a good job overall given what was handed to him. He just wore out his welcome.

I don’t get keeping the GM, but maybe they feel the roster issues are quite fixable.

They are gonna have to cut a bunch of players to make the cap, and they are getting pretty old in key positions.

To me it feels like their window is closed and they need a re-build.

McDermott actually makes a lot of sense in Baltimore, to be honest, not the worst hire they could make.

Go find him on 2billsdr under the name Einstein...

McDermott is a fine coach... He will bring a stable presence to most teams with average ownership...

He won't build a championship team, but he will,b or rather should, be able to build a competitive team which some cities desperately need...

If it hasn't been filled, Atlanta would be a decent place... Along with Cleveland... They have a defense he could build off of while looking for a QB... But risky because the haslams are the definition of front office chaos...

He'd be a good get for a team like the raiders... Stability a plus while they also look for the QB of the future...

The jete should fire Glenn and bring him in but they are dumb down there and won't...

He'd do the same thing there he did in Buffalo... The same thing they fired harbaugh for, not winning

And if he goes to Baltimore, he'll have actual good ownership.

McDermott's made the playoffs 6 straight years. Harbaugh couldn't do that with a 2-time MVP QB.

The bills should remind themselves of the two decades before McDermott.
