Goodell has no authority to do anything.

Agreed, it happened before he had any nexus with the NFL, as he was in college and PCC doesn't seem to apply to other than criminal or violent acts....this appears to be neither.

NFL personal conduct policy - NFL - ESPN

I hate to extend this, but this issue is so overblown. All these internet videos are just lighting rods for morality discussions. Why does the public get so aroused over an obvious video of an athlete getting treatment for an injury?

I can just see it now...every week the same:

Brandon Spikes: Probable, groin

Remember the Jerry Springer Show, Hardbolied?...there you have the genesis of today's craving for the lowest common denominator, aided exponentially by the power of instant communication throughout all media via the internet.

The genie is out of the bottle and WE have to live with it now.

P. Manning tea-bagging the female trainer, I believe, at Tennessee? Was he sanctioned?

Everyone is looking at this negatively, think of the respect Spikes is gaining in the locker room. It's a chemistry booster.

I think he should be more scared of Doc Rivers than Roger Goodell right now

you know, Doc is one of those guys who is not necessarily physically intimidating, but can scare you by just his looks.

So he got a bj from Kim Kardashian (or someone that looks like her) what pro athlete hasnt.

So hes good at penetrating the gap, thats what you want in a LB

I bet Tony Dungy has something to say about this!

To think about it, is there a more apt name for porn than Brandon Spikes?

I am not surprised and PATs fans should understand. This is not good for the image of the NFL, nor the PATS. You can say I am trying to be a puritan or whatever, but Goodell has stressed so many times that a chance to play in the NFL is a privilege and if you can't abide by the rules to leave without incidents, then stay out.
Do you all dismissing this really understand what the Chatroulette is really about? Any job will fine you if you engage in such a thing in your so called personal life and make it public. It is an embarrassment to all your associates.
What he did is beyond stupid now that I have had time to think about it.

What part of the personal conduct policy did he violate, specifically? If not, who cares? Actually, either way, who cares? This isn't a morality/maturity contest; if he can play football then I couldn't care less what he does on the internet, provided that it's not illegal.

At least we know we won't be seeing him in any Viagra commercials anytime soon....... :bricks:

It is looking increasing clear that this was before he entered the draft. It is not illegal, but the NFL under Goodell has become something else.
If your employer finds out that this is what you do in your free time, broadcasting your sex acts to complete strangers, what are the chances that you will still have a job with them? I am talking about a multimillion company. I mean people get fired over facebook pictures. Heck, even walmart might fire you. It is not illegal, but you have to admit that it is so crass and inane and brings a negative attention to the Patriots and the NFL as an extension.
The funny thing is if he recorded it himself, and this got out, I will be fine with it; but for you to do this and for someone to even get the chance to have something like this about you is asinine.
Back to my first sentence; hoping that is was indeed done in college and thus out of the purview of Goodell.
In saying that, I will like for Spikes and his agent to contact whoever is selling this tapes and strike a deal quickly if there is any ambiguity with their statement and date of recording. I am sure like a lot of PAT's fans, we all want this story to disappear as soon as possible.

Did you see the size of his Gronk?!?

this MAY be an open door to get rid of this bum...HE DARES suspend Spikes for something questionable BEFORE he's in the NFL and 1=====A battery of lawyers should be hired going after the NFL in court,,,and 2=======ALL should take Goodell's life and put it under a microscope..FIND some blemsih of the past and I AM SURE there has to be one and..WHEN found blow it up in his face.. Make the bum resign...embarrass HIM and THAT is what is needed...Believe me, I am sure something he did in his past is there...he's not THAT squaky clean..

Spikes was not an NFL player at the time this was made, so the only way this impacts Spikes as an NFL player is if it can be established that he posted or was involved in posting the video after he was drafted as an NFL player. I would expect the statement that League is "looking into" this means just that. If sanctions are levied against a player for legal college antics that would be considered actionable if that player was in the NFL, then much of the NFL will be suspended for pre-draft conduct. It won't happen.
