Brady's Passing Weakness

Both Santana Moss and Pierre Garcon are way faster than every single wideout we have. Aside from that, RGIII is a running threat, the Redskins run the football a lot, and the vast majority of his throws are at or behind the line of scrimmage, so teams don't really back off on defense. He might be better at throwing deep than Brady is, but he's also in a much more favorable situation to do so.
And he's got Bethel Joh—I mean, Aldrick Robinson as well.

Yeah, thats why he only gets 2-3 catches a game and gets little separation.

He's averaging over 4 per game.

Currently 2012 projection is on pace for:

71 receptions, 801 yards, 4 TD's.

Other than TD's, right where he was expected to be in this offense by the vast majority of the posters here before the season began. Everyone here also knew the book on him was not much separation but he makes incredible catches in traffic.

Get your facts right.

But, if you look at the great QBs, the thing that usually sets them apart is that they excel in the short to medium range passes. Brady's accuracy and consistency here might only be matched by only a few other QBs and all of them would be considered elite.
Nah, nobody's in Brady's league when it comes to this.

Lloyd is tied for 18th in the league for receptions.* He has more receptions than nearly half the league's primary receivers. He has more receptions than guys like Jordy Nelson, Steve Johnson, Mike Wallace, Julio Jones, and Desean Jackson. Keep in mind that he's supposed to be the fourth target behind Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez. I don't know how you can possibly be dissatisfied with his production

*Disclaimer: I believe this stat includes week 12, meaning that he had an extra week of production over most receivers as a result of the Thanksgiving game.

To Lloyd's credit, Brady did give him some bad throws. But as long as the other guys like Welker, the TEs and the running game stay productive, it's no problem.

Brady seemed pretty damn good on deep balls when he had Moss and Stallworth in their primes to throw to.

Talk to me again when we have an Andre Johnson or Calvin Johnson type and Brady is still doing poorly on deep throws.

I fear the day where a team in the playoffs plays man coverage and shuts the short routes down and dares the receivers to go deep, just like the Jets game in 2011 playoffs and the 2011 regular season game against Pittsburgh. Lloyd really has disappointed this year, but then again, Brady did deliver him some bad balls. He can't get much separation. Next season, the team needs to get some speed at the WR position or some size or a mixture of both. I'm fine with the inside the numbers passing game, but there will be a day whether it be playoffs where a team will force NE to go deep.

And sadly they have only averaged 37 ppg when the formula to beat them is so CLEAR!

People on this forum don't take well to wrong data.

If you want to post incorrect data, you're going to be corrected. Sorry if that upsets your sensitivities.

How 'bout YOU chill and fact check before making statements?

Overall hes been a fine additon however I expected more YAC but that being a bit nit-picky.

If you look at every other number, hes pretty much on target to have his 2nd or 3rd best career season. Can't really complain here.

If teams want to leave him in single coverage on the outside, so be it. For an outside receiver hes catching about 56% of his throws his way. No too bad..
