It's usually not debilitating, but it can be annoying and distracting. It has to affect focus and, to some degree, movement. The long and short of it: he deserves great credit for the way he performed this year and next year he'll be just fine.

I don't know where you got that from. I heard the reason McNabb did not have the surgery earlier is he would have missed six weeks or more. I'm curious to know your source. And wouldn't it depend on the seriousness, the damage and residual soreness from playing with the injury?

Definition of a minor operation: surgery on someone else.

Hernias take alot longer than 10 days to recover from. He might be up and walking in 10 days, but he won't be able to play football or lift heavy objects for up to two months. However, it is a simple operation.

I got my information the most direct way possible: I had a hernia and an operation to correct it. But I agree that he won't be ready to play football for a couple of months after the operation.

Which I mean as a tribute to his toughness and BBs sneakiness regarding Reporting. I think it was Al Michaels on the last MNF who said you could be dead and BB would list you as probable.

I am actually relieved to hear there is a reason for those many high and bad throws he had (while setting the record for most yards in the NFL, I know).

In terms of McNab not only did he whine, and stay on past the point of being an asset, but he also wore a frigin Flak-Jacket once he was injured.

I also think of healthy Manning cringing away from the on-rushing Steelers, because even in one piece, he was too wimpy to suck it up for the team.

Brady is Jusy amazing.

Two things:

1) This is great news in a way, because some of those inexplicable throws he made now make sense. Instead of worrying --- as I had --- that we can't always trust Brady, because sometimes he sails a throw way high, we can now understand why it happened and look forward to having that corrected for next season.

2) I disagree that it is so heroic to play with pain. Admirable, yes. But if you're costing your team wins, then it's not so cool. Granted, Brady hurt is better than any backup we could put out there, so I'm not complaining. But in general, if a player gets so hurt that he's hurting the team, let's not get too happy praising this state of affairs!

I think what you say is correct in McNabb's case, but not at all in ours. Although there's little question he was downgraded a little, he still maintained a career high year in terms of yards. He also continued to be the offensive rock of the team on the psychological side of things. In any case, to say that Brady hurt the team in any way whatsoever is preposterous (not that you did).

I think you are quite right in that (particularily for a quarterback) there's no honor or gain in "toughing it out" when it'll hurt the team in the long run. Another underemphasized example of this was Daunte Culpepper: if you remember the play that ended his season, he booted for some yards and elected to get a couple more by taking the hit rather than sliding. Poof, no more star QB for Minnesota (though that ended up helping them... go figure).

Brady is really amazing. All the bashing of him by other jealous fans is ridiculous. We have the best player in the league. And we can officialy call him, a "Warrior"

The frustrating thing is...

...that Brady's worst passes in the Denver game were all short ones: 4th and 1 to Fauria in the 1st quarter; 3rd and 2 to Branch in the 3rd; 2nd and goal to Givens in the 3rd.
If Brady hits Fauria, the Pats are probably 5-6 yards from field goal range.
If Brady hits Branch, he probably has the 1st down, and maybe a TD if he eludes the rookie CB.
If Brady hits Givens (in the numbers, not at his outstreched hands), he probably gains enough yards to make 3rd down a running or passing situation, or maybe a TD if he eludes the more formidable Champ Bailey.
Also, the incompletion to Watson in the 2nd quarter, near the 10-yard line, may have been tipped by Trevor Price, who blew past the incompetant, disgraceful Brandon Gorin. If this turnstile is on the opening-day 53 next season, I will be extremely dissappointed.
I do not mean to piss on Brady; I have watched that game over and over again, and I am convinced that, without the turnovers, the Donkeys not only lose, but perhaps are shut out.

Well we were up 3-0 before Faulk's fumble with less than two minutes left so a first half shutout was guaranteed. And given the good field position the Broncos had in the first half, it's extremely possible they'd have not scored in the second half.
