Brady has 3,342 pass yards after yesterday. If he averages 308 yards per game over his last 4 games (Mia, Pit, Buf, NYJ) he will have 4,574 yards for the season. Which is 2 yards ahead of last season when he won MVP. Unless the Pats clinch early and he rests...that sounds doable. 8 INTs right now which matches last year. 0 ints the rest of the way also sounds doable if the running game is rolling.

    Cliff? :)

He won't average 308 passing yards the rest of the way but stats and awards don't matter, only wins.

That’s all well and good, but I don’t really care about his stats. He looked better yesterday than at any point this season. Way more confidence in his throws and spreading the ball around. Appeared to have more MPH. Great pocket movement too. If he has been dealing with an injury this year, yesterday could be an indication it’s no longer a big issue.

That’s all good but his advanced stats combined with his lack of rushing TD’s and 60+ Yard throws on the run tell a different story.

You don’t win games with yards, you win them by scrambling out of the pocket. The Pats have won only 8 of their last 9 games. The blame for that is surely on Brady.

I mean, it’s not a bad record but some other QB’s would have won 11 maybe 12 out of those 9 games while styling all over the field.

Agree but I don't think his point was about wether he'd hit the marks more about how close he is to his MVP numbers as a way to defeat the cliff talk.

I wouldn't bet the house that he will, but it is doable. One big game against say Pit where he puts up 390 would go a long way to helping him get it done. Agree about wins. Just think in the year BRady is "done" there's a chance he comes close to his MVP season last year in production..

They have a very legitimate ground game now with 3 healthy bodies so I doubt he gets there but reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Also needs about 350 yards the rest of the way to beat Warren Moon's record for most pass yards by a 41 year old. :D

I wouldn't say Brady's performance so far indicates anything bad. We have gotten used to him performing at such a high level over the years that anything less becomes unacceptable. I don't get why the analysts and others who judge players purely based stats understand it's only the WINS that ultimately matter. Bradys has more of those than anyone else in NFL history and he is still top 3 in passing TDs in NFL history.. He may not catch up with Brees but he has 5 rings to show for plus he plays outdoors unlike Brees who is guaranteed 10 games in dome every year.

I just hope there won't be anymore "tip" interceptions. As awful as Brady's throws are sometimes, these INTs are even worse and can hurt big time in playoffs. Those may not always be his fault, but I hope we don't see any more of those. That said, if he continues to play like he did yesterday, our offense will be alright.

This. I felt much better watching him yesterday than the last couple weeks. Looked decisive, no jitters and great pocket awareness. If it wasn’t for an Edelman drop and a missed FG the first half would’ve looked much better than 10 points. Now Gronk on the other hand is starting to worry me.

The whole "system QB" game manager horse bleep is so absurd. Look at how well the other "GOAT" in GB is doing and frankly has always done... Brady Manages WINS!

total passing yards is bogus stat, hell even INTs, Rodgers is proving this year that having just 1 INT does not really say much. He is having a bad year.

It's getting difficult to be optimistic about Gronk. When he hurt his back in 2016 on that Earl Thomas hit, I remember a lot of scouts saying that was his 3rd back surgery or so; they said that's the one injury where teams will literally take players off a draft board because recurring back injuries are so difficult to deal with, and the consensus, according to that article, was that Gronk's days were limited. He was himself against last season, but it's starting to look like the injury toll is piling up. The guys is 29 with a lot of mileage, a lot hits, a lot of surgeries. I don't think there's much question we've seen the end of GOAT Gronkowski. The question in my mind is now whether he can play at the level of a good tight end or even average tight end. He can still block, but has his speed and overall body strength just eroded to the point where he should retire? He's gone well beyond what anyone could expect considering all of those really major injuries...it's almost miraculous he was playing at an all-pro level last season. I wish people would appreciate his toughness instead of whining about his injuries...I know I have always appreciated it.

Agreed...300 games into the Brady era, it's fair to say that fans have a good sense of this player. :) There were games this year, even wins, when he just didn't look like himself. The trademark accuracy wasn't there. Yesterday's game felt much, much better.

Probably the pressure to get to 1000 yards was getting to him, eh? :D

I think a better yardstick is the patriots offense had scored 346 points thru 12 games last year and have scored 331 thru 12 this year, which is virtually the same thing.

I think if you really analyze his play it’s not accuracy that has changed it’s that at 41 he has become more willing to give up on a single play rather than take a beating.
Most of the inaccurate throws were quasi-throwaways imo.

I was thinking about that as well. My hope is that he will be able to temporarily raise his game in the playoffs and be the gronk of old before probably retiring.

Yea as depressing as it is to say I think this may be it. He’s not getting the separation and the explosision seems to be all but gone. For the most part we have gone away from the seam routes and his target to catch ratio is pretty bad as well. I knew at some point all the abuse would catch up to him but I was hoping he would decline gradually instead of a cliff which is how it’s looking now. With that said I would love to be wrong but it’s hard to see him lumbering and getting taken down by one no name inches short of the sticks.
