THAT was the pass that Pete Carroll should have ordered 2 years ago on 2nd and goal... but I won't complain that he did something different.

Really? I was thinking THAT was the pass that nearly turned Tom's legacy into a confusing mess. Could have been picked off. He didn't put enough on it...just surprising on first down there would be a 50/50 ball where the defender actually had a better chance to catch it.

I know many will look at that play as a mistake and say it had shades of Pete Carroll written all over it, but I think the circumstances are far different.

1.) The Pats have Tom Brady as their QB and the run game was getting stuffed ALL night. On second down I was hoping they came out in a shot gun with at least 4 WR spread out wide. Oh, and Blunt (the team's goalline back) had already fumbled once in the game.

2.) The Seahawks had a workhorse back who had been effective. Even with that being said I don't think it was a bad play or play call by Seattle but instead of a great individual play by Malcolm Butler.

Even though I was big fan of calling for a pass, I actually wasn't a big fan of THAT play. Like I said, spread them out and let White, Amendola, and Edelman do what they do best (one will get open).

I agree, don't throw to the middle of the field, even low that play is low percentage anyway, a throw to that spot is better, but Brady under threw it.

Just smash it in with Blount, that was a heart stopping moment

Then it was an execution issue...as I said, he didn't put enough on that throw. Probably would have felt differently had it sailed over the head of Beasley, but it turned out to be a very high-risk, almost catastrophic play.

It's definitely a better call than the Seahawks had, and I get that it was a mismatch worth exploiting, but I nearly had a heart attack anyway. That was way too close to a turnover for comfort, thank god Beasley has feet for hands (which, again, is probably why he was targeted in the first place.

So... I get it, but I dunno. I'm all for having faith in your QB, but he very nearly got picked there. On 1st and goal, I was yelling "run it four times if you have to!" at my TV, and I stand by that. Atlanta's defense was gassed, there was never any chance they were going to hold the line four straight times.

I get why he did it. Felt like a show-me pass with the intention of making the defense think for just a split second before reacting to the next play of a run. Definiteky should have aimed it right at the corner and further than it went. But I was ok with the call.

It was the right pass for the Seahawks 2 years ago for sure. Not the inside slant where the odds of a pick were higher.

Its both in my opinion. I hate when haters give no credit. Seattle got out executed. People wanna say it's a bad playcall, that's fine I agree. But don't take away from the kid making a great play.

Don't know how that fade goes in practice but either Tom did under throw it a bit or Martellus played it poorly. I tend to think the latter but could be wrong.

I like a jump ball to Bennett with Beasley covering him. There's a reason he didn't pick it off. He's Vic Beasley in coverage.

My thoughts exactly. There is a very low percentage chance that Beasley out-muscles Bennett to the ball. I don't mind Brady making that throw or the play call. But Bennett losing his positioning and not even contesting the ball..? I'm pretty happy to be moving on from Marty B this offseason..

....and let's not forget, when it comes to the Pats we are talking about TOM BRADY. I'm fine living and dying with the ball in his hands. The execution (as someone noted earlier) just happened to be subpar on that particular throw.

Bennet slipped when he was gathering himself to jump. That made it look worse than it was IMHOP.

Not a whole lot we can do to put lipstick on this particular pig.

No question. The matchup was perfect. Bennett is 6-7 for cripes sakes. He totally under-threw it. Throw it up high!

Same kinda throw to Gronk vs SEA

Clearly Brady needs to work on that.

Slacker.

Joke or not, Brady's definitely thinking that. I bet he makes that pass thousands of times this offseason.

It was also his first incompletion after 11 straight for 124 yards on the last 2 drives, with only 2 runs mixed in.

I 1/2 jest but I do agree with you.

Hes one driven dude.
