My kid is a summer lifeguard at a county pool frequented by various minority groups. For anyone to go off the diving board in the deep end, the swimmer must first pass a basic swim test. When notified of the rules, the most common response is “you are a racist.” One day while my kid was attempting to explain this rule to a mother whose child refused to take the test... the child snuck onto the diving board and jumped in and sank to the bottom. My kid jumped in and pulled the child off the bottom. Later the mom sought out the pool manager to complain about the racist rules of the pool.

I can't see how Godell punishes him less that 8 games, he is a repeat offender. I believe he will hand down the punishment in July in time for camp. I would then expect him stay under the rehab's oversight until camp starts and I expect that he will return to the rehab facility the first few games of the regular season as he serves his penalty.

some people get addicted more easily and more intensely just due to "physical structures" in thier brains. similar in a way to how some people lose weight more easily than other fat people.

Why are they racist? Was the mother assuming that black people in general can’t swim? Wouldn’t that assumption be racist?

I don't see how this is something positive. If there is someone triple covered it just mathematically means there has to be a better option somewhere else.

You don't know that. The question whether him missing last year's games will retroactively count for whatever suspension most certainly is still coming his way is completely open.

Gordon broke clearly defined rules multiple times. Hill is an awful human being who shouldn't have been eligible for the league just based on everything in his college time but his situation is much less defined.

Unfortunately, you are comparing apples and oranges.

Hill’s actions are deplorable and have been committed (or alleged to have been committed) against some of the most vulnerable people. A pregnant woman and a small child. As far as I am concerned he should be banned for life.

Gordon on the other hand, his actions have really only hurt himself. With that said he has had more chances to get right than most and can’t seem to get his demons under control. In the end of the day I would rather give Gordon another 10 chances than Hill a second.

This is the closest she will come to apologizing for obnoxiously and out of nowhere (in this particular situation) playing the race card. "It got way out of hand"????? Sorry, SMY, that's not being genuine. She knows what she did was wrong. She just hasn't achieved the self-confidence to be able to apologize. I hope she someday ascends to more self-assuredness, but it's obvious she is struggling. As I wrote earlier, she seemed like a genuinely nice person. We all know plenty of well-meaning people in our lives who hit out at others because they have issues. Many of the things she protests against are real and need to be called out. This was an eggregious example of one that wasn't. The fact that she pulled a Goodell in the aftermath doesn't say much for her.

If the punishments are similar - 8 games vs 6 games, e.g. - then I would be surprised, though not shocked I suppose, if they are announced at the same time. Seems like that would be a bad look for the league maybe.
