Boyce to IR

Pretty great news that Dobson will be playing in the playoffs.

Don't speak too soon.

Why do you think they signed Sam McGuffie to the Practice Squad?

I don't think a final determination has been made about Dobson. They already screwed up once by sending him out there too soon against Buffalo.

Boyce to IR...

Pretty great news that Dobson will be playing in the playoffs.

Now I wouldn't go that far, who knows, he could be running a deep route and injure it again. We aren't out of the woods yet.

And who needs boyce for kick returns when you have legarette friiggin' Blount

This sucks because I don't think Dobson will be even close to 100%. I think they are just keeping him alive on the roster on the off-chance that he might do something… like Gronkowski on his bad ankle a couple of years ago.

How did Boyce even get hurt?

How did Boyce even get hurt?

The official story is he hurt his ankle in the Dolphins game: Josh Boyce Placed on Injured Reserve by Patriots, Ending Rookie Wide Receiver?s Season | New England Patriots | NESN.com

But my theory is this season Bill was so dedicated to the "next-man-up" ethos, he had two wheels of fate constructed on the sidelines. Should any series not result in an injury and an opportunity to employ the "next-man-up" strategy, he would promptly yell at Mallet to make use of his arm strength and spin both wheels. The first would indicate the player, and the second the nature of the injury. Boyce returned to the sidelines to Bill telling him "It is what it is," before the coaching staff hauled him off to the locker room to go Annie Wilkes on his ankle.

Definitely the most logical explanation for our injury situation IMO. And I should say I'm not trying to make light of Boyce's injury, but more so the absolutely absurd injury situation of our team this year. It's at the point where it's almost too depressing to NOT make light of it.

Here's to a swift recovery for him, and hopefully Dobson being ready to go when we need him (depending on who we draw, that might not necessarily be next week).

This sucks! Now who's going to return kickoffs for us? Blount?

Can someone please make it stop? Nobody is thinking of the children. O' why o' why can't somebody think of the children?

If the Patriots win the Super Bowl this season, it will be one of the more remarkable stories in recent history given the injury affliction the team has suffered through.

Lol, it sounds bad when you're glad one of your own team's players gets IR'd.

I know right? I was so relieved when I read this headline. Get healthy for next year Boyce but, we need Dobson now.

Can Hulk Hogan return kicks?

Did you see the video?

His arms look more wrinkly than my Aunt Mildred's at our summer family picnics. I feel like begging HIM to put on a shawl, too.

Link to video? The espn page with hulk hogan said the video was removed.

Merged threads.

Hey Shmessy, will you PLEASE check if there is already a thread before you start a new one??? Posters like you make me work harder when you pull crap like that.

You know this is like the fourth time you've started a thread making this request?

They just signed a guy onto the ps who might fill in for dobson if he has to go on ir. He's also been in denver camp for two years I believe. Hopefully he can learn the play book quickly.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Dobson/Thompkins/Boyce/Moe look like with a couple of years experience in this system.

I am too, I think Dobson can make the type of leap Alshon Jeffery made this season with the Bears I truly do. He needs to work on his route running, body control, freeing his hands from the defender and upper body strength. I have said this a number of times WRs generally have one of the most drastic jumps year 1 to year 2.

These were the bigger name receivers in the 2012 rookie class and they all made tremendous strides.

Jeffrey
• Receptions – 24/89
• Yards – 367/1421
• Touchdowns – 3/7
Gordon
• Receptions – 50/87
• Yards – 805/1646
• Touchdowns – 5/9
Hilton
• Receptions – 50/82
• Yards – 861/1083
• Touchdowns – 7/5
Wright
• Receptions – 64/94
• Yards – 626/1079
• Touchdowns – 4/2
Floyd
• Receptions – 45/65
• Yards – 562/1041
• Touchdowns – 2/5

Regarding Boyce going to injured reserve I am disappointed to hear that, I really like how he was playing prior to the ankle injury. Outside of Jamie Collins I would have to say Boyce intrigues me the most of any player in our rookie class, I think he has the ability to be a Randall Cobb type player.

i'm just relieved its not Dobson...hopefully they were being precautionary holding him out the rest of the bills game.
