Bono with kind words for Tom Brady

Yah, "nobody's ever heard of U2" is a little overselling the case, you can say "U2 Sucks" but not "nobody's ever heard of U2"

Even if you dislike u2, it’s hard to argue with that level of success. Not many bands have out sold them.
people are suckers for fake sincerity. See Coldplay...

That’s hilarious. I will quote my dad. “God loves the pats but is angry that he doesn’t have a pats uniform, that’s why the giants won on miracle plays”
He always says something weird.
Let Kraft just try and give God one of those ugly fake blue jerseys...

Anyway Ian Curtis doesn't die. And no one's ever heard of u2. Another reason to mourn his passing
Ian Curtis is a post-punk god, but there's no way that's true and it's a pointless statement. Joy Division doesn't exist without Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Sex Pistols.

u2s first two albums are carbon copy of joy division work. Whatever about siouxsie there is no comparison with the pistols outside of the band meeting at a pistols gig.
Yes. I ****ing know my source material

Only they're not. The bass guitar especially Peter Hook playing way up on the neck is mainly an attribute of Joy Division, The Edge has always had his own chiming guitar tone much different than Bernard Sumner, and Bono's vocals are nothing like Curtis'. Add that to the much darker and depressing lyrics of Joy Division (Isolation is their best song, IMO, not exactly relevant, but I just felt like throwing that out there) than U2, and all I see is a similar genre.

U2, Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Chameleons, The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, etc. all have heavy elements of post-punk but that does not mean they are copies of each other.

Also another slightly irrelevant note, John McGeoch is the best guitarist in that genre and if he was still alive would kick Bernard Sumner's ass in a fight.

I'm guessing you hate New Order.

and they do not exist without the Ramones.

Saw my first U2 concert in 1992. Zoo TV arena show before it hit the stadiums. Demand for the show was so high it knocked out the local telephone lines when tickets went on sale. Best concert I've ever seen. Better then the Stones, better then the Who, better then Pearl Jam, even better then Springsteen. I've probably seen around 300 concerts in my life and nothing compared to that show.

There's an apropos of nothing comment.

No actually. I save it for knobo and the edge. Anyway. You're ramble through post punk history does nothing to argue my point. If Curtis doesn't die and gets on that plane to the US the following day the world doesn't have to put up with the authentophobe bono.

Kraft is considered so charitable,

yet he ignores all the millions of Patriots fans around the globe who rooted for the team for thirty-three years and like any fans simply wanted to see their team on the world's biggest stage, winning it all,

and instead continue to be force fed an ugly, strange league abomination with the image of a decaying corpse on their helmets.

You know I've been a fan since 1961 and have always had Pat Patriot in my avatar and I think you're insane.

Haha that's hilarious. There's not video of that is there?

I heard this one back in the 90s, and THINK it’s just a joke... which means, repeat it as fact and use the word “apocryphal”

Don't disrespect John McGeoch, who you needed to Google, or he'll kick your ass from the grave right after he's done with Bernard.

Yes it does. You seem incapable of understanding that just because two bands share a similar genre does not mean they are rip offs of each other. Also, Curtis' lyrics were a huge part of Joy Division, which were fueled by severe mental health issues, which would have done him in at some point anyway like it did.

Also if not New Order, then you don't like The Killers, since they share similarities to Joy Division. Also, you call U2 a Bon Jovi tribute? Have you listened to either band or are you just delusional? U2 has been around longer than Bon Jovi.

Well, the Niners tried to ruin their helmets and their fans responded exactly as we Patriots fans did in '79

And there's no way in hell they'd prefer to have won their titles looking like this

nor would Braves fans prefer this
nor would Rangers fans prefer this

Wearing a stupid, league-concocted ugly logo and uni's seems okay for a "phase" a team temporarily transitioned through, in this case Orthwein/Parcells/Bledsoe.

But the glory, dynasty years? Other franchises and their fans got to see their best.

Not the Patriots. Looking silly and labeled cheaters.

You know what? Nobody cares.

Congratulations. You’ve demonstrated through reductio ad absurdum just how unimportant an age-old pats fans disagreement is.

I guess the greatest “real” Pats QB of all time is Steve Grogan... or maybe if you’re about championships, Tony Eason.

Please stop it. Also, get cable and at least a flip phone.

Cheese and crackers got all muddy...

Both of them are unafraid to attempt to lead fans to feel big swells of emotion which pisses some people off. U2 is by far the better of them, but I only know their early stuff well. Similar that way - it’s not “we’re just having fun” music, not confusing garden variety angst or anger with “being real.” But I’m nobody’s music critic & im old.
