BJGE & Maroney

They got rid of Maroney cause he didn't get it.

BJ got the job by default, he's here, so I hope he shows more than he did against Balt. Looked OK against Buff and Miami, but he better show some spark every game, because he's not exceptional in speed, power or elusiveness IMO. Doesn't mean he can't get some carries, but he needs 100% effort each game if he wants to be a starter.

Taylor, despite his age, just needs to be healthy.

Screw Maroney. If they gave up on him after all this time, I really don't care. I trust the judgment of the team and it sounds like the guy was going through the motions, or something.

Last week BJGE was 10 rushes for 20 yards for a 2.0 ypc stat. Maroney was 7 rushes for 18 yards for a 2.6 ypc stat. The Ravens and Jets rushing defenses are not that different and Maroney is rushing behind a new line that he does not know.

So where are the BJGE bashers just like there would have been Maroney bashers? 2.0 ypc - REALLY? And not one peep out of anyone on the board?

Why did we have a terrible ground game with Maroney at 3+ ypc but there is no mention when we have BJGE at 2.0 ypc?

It wasn't the game plan? PLEASE! BJGE was in goal line situations? PLEASE. The Ravens run defense is much better than the Jets? PLEASE.

Way to bring it, Statman! Why don't you put some year-to-date stats on your plate and have a big ol helping of the **** you're dishing out.

BJGE 57 235 4.1 22L 3
Maroney36 74 2.1 13L 0

Idiot.

It was almost as if the OP waited for the first week in which the stats between the two were even comparable to come out with this drivel.

Is this going to be another Seymour/Mankins thing, where every week someone decides to prod the horse's corpse?

Does Maroney play for the Patriots? No... I am over it :)

Woodhead has also passed Maroney in my eyes. Better runner, better catcher, better rb. :D

BJGE is a consistant downhill runner that has a little bit of power. He is not going to do as well against big physical defenses like Ravens / Steelers / Jets.

For those games its better if we spread them out and use woodhead to run the ball.

BJGE will fair better against quicker defenses or in goalline situations. He did have a rushing touchdown against the Ravens, which isn't easy.

Not to mention the fact that he also plays special teams.

For the patriots - he is a perfect fit for our RBBC. I dont think anyone realistically thinks he is going to become a 1500 yard rusher, but he has a important role in one of the leagues most under-rated run offenses.

According to FO we have the 3rd best Rush offense.

He really is a perfect fit for us. And I think Maroney never really did fit what we were trying to do. Lawfirm is consistent but not explosive, while Maroney was the exact opposite prior to his injury. He definitely seemed to lose a few steps with that injury though, and he couldn't transition to a different type of back. I don't hold any ill will against him.

But I'm glad he's in Denver.

I think the mods did a terrible job not locking this thread and moving it elsewhere. Frankly, we have enough flaming and bashing in this forum.

The one time BJGE was in a goal line situation he got a TD.

Thanks for the video. LoMo really did have some good plays for us back in the day. The trouble is we hadn't seen any of those in a couple of years. LoMo started running sideways instead of straight after his injuries. BJGE is good for us because of his consistency. He wasn't featured in the game against Baltimore, but he did get a nice TD, and at the end of the game when he was asked to get a few more yards, get the spot in the middle and not fumble, he did as he was asked. That is his value to the Pats.

Good luck to LoMo in Denver, but it doesn't look like he's ever going to be the player in that video again in the NFL.

Maroney is doing the exact same dancing routine in Denver and getting stuffed at the LOS.

Bronco fans are saying the exact same things that us non Maroney luvers have been saying for years. No vision and he tries to avoid contact instead of hitting the hole and taking whats there.

LoMo is a bust ala Chad Jackson. BB was lucky to get a 4th out of the deal.

The Patriots net yards against the Ravens was 129 at an average of 4.9, Brady to Branch was rekindled and the defense exploded on the Ravens from the fourth onwards. That's why.

Yeah, so everyone else on the team was gashing the ravens, while BJGE was gettign tackled in the backfield.

Wasn't featured? Woodhead kept getting the ball because BJGE wasn't getting yards.

You are absolutely right!

Trade BJGE for Maroney and then draft Mark Ingram next year and ship him to Denver as a player to be named later. And throw in a 2nd rounder.

And do it NOW!

Everyone knows Maroney is a far superior back to Green-Ellis! Just looks at the numbers!

Bring back MARONEY!

(The Numbers...

NFL Stats: by Player Position

BJGE isn't a burner, that's for sure, but he is a consistent back with decent field vision and a lot of potential. He doesn't have explosiveness but he can get the yards we need to keep the chains moving and that's how the Patriots offense will work this season.

Basically he ended up getting Deion Branch for Maroney and a 6th.

I don't think BJGE has much potential at all. If you block a play well he'll get you 20 where a back with better skills would get 60. What you see now is pretty much what you're going to get.

What's your point? The Ravens know it's a run when BJGE is in? Yes I agree.

Weak.

BJGE is averaging 4.1 yards per carry for the season, with 3 touchdowns and zero fumbles. In fact, BJGE has never fumbled in his entire NFL career ( 157 carries ).

Maroney is averaging 2.1 yards per carry for the season, with zero touchdowns and 1 fumble.

How is this even close dude ?

More like they decided to spread it out and go with a no huddle type look, where Woodhead is the top back like Faulk was. Faulk had games like that in the past too. Did that mean he was a better RB than the others? No. You just take what the defense gives you.
