One other link: University Southern California Official Athletic SiteThanks for the link. ESPN has the same stats, so maybe ESPN was actually accurate. Meaning Matthews only had one solo sack plus 3 assisted sacks in his last 11 games...
For some reason they don't finish the season, NFLDraftScout will always have something more to report - for example, that site has Barwin with 6 PD, but NFLDraftScout and other outlets report 7. Still, it's great one stop shopping.BTW, that site has great stats, def the best college stat site I've seen...
Box, PATSNUTme: I found this picture of the two of you, but who's who?
Oh man, all these years I've gone without an avatar, but...
Congrats in finally choosing one!
Here is a little movie mad for you to celebrate.

I had to really think about it On the real tho they're both binky-worthy, I'm just having a hard time finding a downside to B-man
I love his versatility for the Pats, I love his lack of an injury history, he's a big boy, he sounds intelligent and well-spoken, he did well at the combine...I dunno, what's not to like.
My only fear is that someone else (like Miami) will scoff him up, in which case I'll have to dig up a negative just to make myself feel better.
His hearing issue could be a positive in noisy stadiums; from his interview it sounds as though he's compensated for any difficulty with better peripheral vision, careful lip reading, etc, all stuff that could become assets in many circumstances.
Anyway he's my choice; there's just too much to like and not enough to dislike.
I tend to think you could throw a blanket over all these OLB guys in the lower 1st and top 2nd .. so why not look elsewhere (i.e Beatty at OT) and then pick up a S (Delmas, Moore or Chung), an OLB (Barwin, English, Sintim) and a WR in the 2nd?
Here is something to take into consideration when evaluating Barwin. Not saying it will be a problem. Just bringing up info.

The switch to end wasn’t the first time Barwin had to adapt himself. He was born mostly deaf in both ears. He learned to read lips as a child and still looks at a person’s mouth during a conversation. To correct his hearing, he underwent five or six surgeries, the last one when he was in fifth or sixth grade. Despite the surgeries, he had complications, including tumors and infections, in his left ear.
Now, he can only hear a little bit out of his left ear, which has an extraordinarily deep canal. His hearing deficiency was a problem last season when he lined up on the right side of the quarterback, because he couldn’t hear the snap count and was sometimes late getting off the line.
It’s not an issue on defense, because he just moves when the tackle across from him moves. Other things, though, haven’t changed.
Already brought that up a while ago. It doesn't seem to matter too much, as he noted, especially on D.

When you draft a player you draft the whole person and that is why I brought it up for those who did not know about it. I do hope that it is not a problem for the player and the team that drafts him.
Many players have had some kind of disability such as diabetes and have had good careers.
A hearing disability won't matter much: we only know that he won't have the helmet with the green dot. As explained in your excerpt, he doesn't have to listen to the snap count, just react to the OL movement. In terms of D calls, I assume he could go by hand signals.
Diabetes can be a physically debilitating illness that shortens lives. Deafness is a completely different disability, one that hasn't affected Barwin physically (as seen by his combine numbers ).
