my opinion, also. This is why people say that there is no way the Pats can be better with Branch than Moss, or why any potential free agent is a great pickup if he has great stats or is a name player.threads like this are a true example of how "fantasy football" was ruined and just completely watered down true football .. Good grief. The only standard of performance that matters is that you score more points than the other team. There is a certain standard of performance that is expected from players of a certain caliber. A player of brady's caliber has to throw for at least 4000 yards and 25 touchdowns.
How many did he toss vs the Ravens and Bolts combined? Is there some kind of new rule that says rushing TDs and pick-sixes don't count?btw: we won't win this week if brady throws one touch down.

Remember Derek Anderson - he was a pro bowl QB one season. It's called an anomoly. Jay Cutler too. I think the guy Ryan replaced had the Jills off to one heck of a start a couple of years ago, they were division contenders that season through the first 8 games... Garrard... heck, Palmer... Guys catch lightening in a bottle on bad teams that other team don't take seriously. Once the league catches up...the party's over.
To be considered playing on par with Brady he's gonna have to maintain at this level for about 8-9 seasons...

4,000 yards means nothing. It can mean you're blowing teams out with a dominant passing game, but more likely it means you're playing from behind a lot. Tony Romo throws for a lot of yards but no one considers him a great QB. Brees is well on pace for 4,000 plus yards this season, but he also has 10 or so INT and a 4-3 record.
Brady will throw 25-30 TD this year. Last year, he had 12 TD at this point in time, and the only reason he even had 12 was because he threw for 6 against the Titans. 5 games into the season, he had 6.
Despite 4 turnovers, we only beat the chargers by 3 points.
4000yards mean something. It is the gold standard for good quarterbacks. 12 qbs threw for 4000 yard last year, that 38% of the league. It's the same as good running backs must run 1000 yards no excuses. This is a passing league, we are a passing team. We have thrown the ball more than 25 times in the last 2 weeks.
We were not a legitimate superbowl contender despite going 10 and 6 because of our defense and brady just coming back from an injury. If we don't improve our passing game, we will suffer the same fate as last year. We must improve our passing game to be legit superbowl contenders. Tom brady is considered an elite qb, he has to produced 4000 yards and 25 tds no excuses.
You guys are getting cut up in the last 2 wins and not looking at the big picture. Despite 4 turnovers, we only beat the chargers by 3 points.
For all the people saying that the film hasn't caught up to Fitzpatrick yet, I'm not sure what you're talking about. He's been in the league for several years now, and this isn't his first season as a starter. These teams already have plenty of film on him. It's possible that he's just developed into a better player, especially when you consider that the Bills don't even have TO this time around.

... you stat obcessed fantasy guys don't have a clue what it takes to win championships in the real football world.

Yep. Here's hoping he can get onto Fitzpatrick's level some time soon :bricks:Fitzpatrick is pretty good. Brady is having a so-soish year so far. I hope he will improve.

Are you kidding? Of course that tape is still relevant. He might have changed or improved a few things since he played for the Bengals, but he's still going to be the same type of player. How many games has he started as a Buffalo Bill? How many games has he started as a Buffalo Bill under Chan Gailey?
Just because he started a bunch of games for the Bengals several years ago doesn't make that tape relevant today.
