Bill Belichick Appreciation Thread

I love Bill
I loved how he coached our team for over 2 decades. I did not always agree with the decisions, deliveries or outcome, but Bill almost always proven correct, and I truly trusted and backed Bill on most every decision made.
As things went south, his decisions were harder to understand and his deliveries even harder. I still respected the hell out of the HC decisions. Even up to his last days, I convinced myself there was a path for Bill to remain the HC, but release his other responsibilities.
Today, I still love Bill, but am saddened by his current situation and national media reputation. I hope he digs himself out and returns his rep to it's rightful place.

I appreciate everything Bill Belichick brought to this franchise and its fans. I'm saddened by the fact it did not end well here but TBH it almost never does for anyone in the NFL. Belichick is the greatest coach of the Super Bowl era, it isn't debatable. He did his damn job and in the results oriented world that is the NFL, he did it better than anyone else. His choices over the past several years do not change that, also not debatable.

"It is what it is."

Your arrogance is beyond belief.

I love Bill
I love Bunny

I can't think of anything he did wrong other than not kicking a FG on 4th and whatever in the AFCCG in 2006, being unprepared for the Giants defense in 2007, and then hiring Matt Patricia as OC in 2022.

23 years and 3 mistakes.

Amazing!

BB returning to the NFL to coach the Giants turn around would be awesome. Succeed or fail, it would be great for the league.

I cannot imagine BB making it work with Jaxson Dart. Seems a nonstarter.

It's all hypothetical OFC but I cannot imagine BB taking the job without final say on the roster, meaning any problem he might have with Dart would take care of itself.

It really is time for Bill to go back to media work and finish off his career that way.

Changed the thread title. And I already expressed my appreciation for Bill and everything he did for the franchise. We've witnessed some unbelievable moments over the years, and I was at one of the parades, which was pretty incredible. The team's success certainly brought a lot of people in here that I never would have met otherwise, so I'm definitely incredibly grateful for that. Again, it's frustrating to see where he's at now, but it would be nice to see him have success there at UNC and cap off his legacy on a positive note.

I find the constant glazing AND the constant bashing of Belichick and Brady on these forums to be quite weird. Great coach and great player obviously and we had an amazing run but I don’t really get why it has to be talked about everyday for years.

With that said, he’s a great coach and brought us (along with Brady) many superbowls. I think sometimes his arrogance and pride got the best of him but overall I find it hard to complain with six rings.

This place is like going to Thanksgiving dinner. There are people who want to talk about whatever's going on today. And then there are the family members who want to share their memories/grievances from 5, 10, 15, 50 years ago.

I just said the thread is visible, but posts by that person within the thread is not. So if you block someone, you can see the thread, and you can reply/participate. You just won't see the posts or interactions of the person you blocked.
I actually love that feature because a few years back I blocked a particularly disrespectful poster and he sometimes started gameday threads and I couldn’t see them lol.

Well, I am happy to dispense with the Mega thread title and will embrace the new one. Always a BB bottle washer. He's not perfect, and I suspect some of his most spiteful critics are even less perfect than he is. He will always have my appreciation as the greatest team builder, greatest defensive game planner and the greatest in game coach. He gave me a wonderful 20 years, something I never thought I would experience. I wish him well.

was going to save this for april 16th, but eh, might as well share...

edit: image deleted. why support sbb's thread if all he is going to do is act the fool... will save it for jmt's 4/16 thread

Yes I still like Bill. He was our coach during our golden age of football.
