Bill’s first offer…

Agreed. He's in his second meeting with the falcons. So that is his likely destination. However they don't have a winning QB? Wouldn't it be something if he went there and traded for Zapp .
Wouldn’t it be something if he went there and traded for *Mac*?

Maybe he has Jimmy G in his mind for when the Raiders cut him, and that’s part of what he’s explaining to Blank.

I never really thought the Cowboys were going to hire Belichick, but I am very, very surprised they are sticking with McCarthy.
McCarthy has a terrible reputation but he isn't that bad. And from where I sit he shouldn't get as much blame as Jones, the common denominator in their long drought.

There are dumb takes, and then there's this.
Atlanta is not nearly as talented as some of you are making them out to be. They played in a cupcake division and still had a losing record. They had some decent wins (splitting with the Bucs, beating GB early, and the Texans). But of their 7 wins 3 are Jets/Colts/Panthers. So you are talking half their wins being bottom feeders and then they split with a few divisional teams. They also lost to teams like the Bears and Panthers.

They have some good skill pieces like Robinson and London and they have a standout safety and guard.

But to put this in perspective, Atlanta was ranked lower than us in ppg by a few spots and were middle of the pack there. They are basically the opposite of the Pats. They are a good passing defensive but a very mediocre rushing defense.

Despite some better players offensively they are just 5 spots ahead of us in ppg.

He's basically flipping a lot of things. He's trading a slightly worse defense with opposite strengths for a marginally better offense. And Atlanta is basically a wash with us in special teams. They are one of the league worst in kickoffs and two spots higher than us in punts. Plus they don't have a QB.

I wouldn't say they have less talent than us, but they are a lot closer to being comprable across the board than they are at being noticeably better.

If Atlanta gets Cousins, are we sure they win that division? TB is still stacked on offense with good players on D. Mayfield has shown he can be very good with those weapons.

If Atlanta moves up to take Daniels or someone else, no rookie QB has ever won a SB. Heck, Warner & Brady are the only first year starters (not rookies) to win the big game.

Blank must be giving Bill some assurances they will get a QB and make key additions. Because I don't foresee a 72 year old going to another rebuilding project.
The big issue is that Cousins has two question marks.

1. The dude is primarily money motivated and he's probably going to milk the hell out of whatever market exists for him to get the highest value. He's good enough that I can see there being a big enough market that it becomes something Bill balks at.

2. He is 35 coming off an ACL tear, the first major injury of his career. You don't know what you are getting with him next year.

3. The Vikings are a better team than the Falcons and Kirk couldn't get them over the hump.

I'm sure Blank is telling Bill that they want to win. But Bill isn't really in a position to demand assurances. Right now his market looks like it's Atlanta or Carolina. Worst team vs the 8th worst team.

Bill must have no other option. Atlanta has no defense & no QB. They may have less talent than the Pats. Bill will be lucky to break the wins record before he's run out of town.

Why McDaniels or O'Brien would follow him there is beyond me. At least NE is likely to have Maye or Daniels to work with.
Seriously, no team has less talent than the Pats. One of these days I'm going to sneak a peak at the numbers and see just how bad.

Atlanta should be an easy fix for Bill. Defense is his specialty and he can pick up a QB. He may not win a SB there but it's a good place for him.

It was actually an achilles which is probably worse.

Arthur Blank, negotiating with himself vs the best hardline negotiator in the history of the NFL.
Money's no object for Artie, but who knows what Billy's looking for. Do you think Bill wants more than just the HC position?

He'll do what the Pats should do and bring in a known QB and draft another. He can have both Mac and Zap.

No idea. If I had to guess, he'd want the buck to stop with him and not the GM. So they'd have to give him a title like HC and President of Football operations or something that puts him above the GM.

Just like with TB, I will be rooting hard for ATL (if they get BB). But ATL will be a rough ride for BB imo but SF is injury-prone, DAL/PHI are prone to disasters, LA is relying on the embers of Stafford's career, and GB needs Love to keep improving. There is a path for success for ATL

So far these teams are IN or OUT on Bill.

Chargers: OUT
Commanders: OUT
Raiders: OUT
Eagles: OUT
Seahawks: OUT
Atlanta: IN (conducted 7 interviews incl. Harbaugh)

TBD:
Titans: most likely OUT
Panthers: maybe
Cowboys: OUT

It's looking like ATL was the only team interested in interviewing Belichick. Panthers may be interested. That's it, two teams? For the GOAT coach?

Wow, maybe Bill should start putting out his Croatian heritage.

What about…..James Richard Garoppolo, if he becomes available?

Titans have been pretty silent. Though they just moved on from a defensive coach who had a tertiary relationship with New England, so maybe they are more hesistant.

what really? According to andy i am sure every team would love BB as their new coach and he sure as hell would win a SB there ASAP

Weren't we supposed to get at least a second pick for Bill because of how big his market was? I was told it would be malpractice to not get a return.
market size like china
