come to think of it,in a certain context, "big bad browner" can certainly raise some people's fears...

Always get a kick out of the idea that an NFL player fears another one.

Someone missed the Superbowl. Seattle players didn't mince their words about it after the game. Bronco Wide Receivers were scared.

Pretty sure after every game Seattle says the WRs were scared. Just because they say it doesn't make it true.

They covered them. Saying there were scared is ridiculous.

I'll put more stock in what Seattle says than what patsfans.com posters say. No offense.
Have any of you ever taken a hit by someone with muscles coming out of their ears? I can't imagine it feels too good, and I'm sure after the first couple you really start to worry about it. I rather distinctly remember a few occasions when Denver receivers simply didn't make the catch because they were obviously worried about getting flattened.

I think they were probably more worried about getting thrown under the bus by Peyton.

Yeah Peyton doesn't take very good care of his guys *cough* Welker *cough*

I've seen the toughest, meanest MMA fighters full of fear.

Fear is one of the most basic human emotions. Nobody is immune to it unless they were born with some sort of impairment.

That anybody would argue that big hits don't impact WR's when they cross into the middle of the field with their head turned back toward their quarterback is hilarious. No human being in the world likes to absorb that type of punishment on a consistent basis throughout the game. Of course they're going to at least be more aware of it, if not fear a big hit coming. That's the reason why you see receivers get alligator arms, flinch when a ball comes their way and the safety is coming in behind them, etc. If big hits, or at least the potential for them, isn't what is causing those things to happen, then someone can feel free to educate me on what is.

We have different definitions of fear apparently.
NFL players are not afraid of being hit by other players. If they were, they would have stopped playing football many years ago.

I was just going to use the MMA example, you beat me to it.

Receivers can be little guys. Defensive backs or line backers or whatever can be very, very large guys.
Football is one of the most violent and brutal sports in the world, and the padding (armor) just emboldens people to hit harder and with reckless abandonment. Anyone who thinks putting on a uniform makes one immune from being scared of another man is just wrong.

Scared doesn't necessarily mean terrified and on the verge of screaming and having a breakdown.

When I was a teenager I used to play football all the time, and like in any small town, you just get everybody who is interested, so that meant taking full blast hits from guys six, seven, eight years older than you, or fat dudes who weighed 250. Didn't feel too good. Now that I'm in my 30's and the body doesn't adsorb punishment like it used to, even with being in pretty decent shape, I simply cannot even imagine what a full on collision with a guy like Browner must feel like, pads or not.

Imagine going out to get your Sunday morning news paper and having Wilfork run out of the bushes at full speed and spear you through your white picket fence? LOL.

The difference between watching football on TV while eating a pizza, and playing football in the NFL, is astronomical. Camera does no justice to what some of those hits must feel like.

I have no doubt you would fear nfl DBS. Nfl players however do not.

I dont know if the Bronco WR's were scared or not by the end of the game.. but they all should have been more worried about their offense's safety from the very beginning..

These NFL wide receivers have been getting mauled and intimated by defensive backs and safeties their whole lives (some of these CB and safetys were pretty tough and scary I bet) and now they are in the Superbowl and are afraid of Brandon Browner and Darell Revis and anyone else who made a mean face at them?

Their role in life is to take punishment from these guys and they get paid very well to do so. To think that in the SB they were all of a sudden afraid is pretty comical. I want BB and DR to be killers out there but lets not get all ridiculous.

SB jitters, I buy that. Having their heads up a bit more, I can buy that even. Scared? No.

Oh but they get paid to do it? Ya ok they aren't timid anymore. Never seen a WR drop a pass over the middle with hearing footsteps near him and turning his head. He just LOVED those 3rd downs!
