@DaBruinz I want a public apology from you on Draft night from if I'm right. I am holding you accountable.

The only way the Pats are drafting Zay Flowers at 14 is if they sign McGlinchey and Orlando Brown, They added Jalen Ramsey for a 4th or later pick or Gonzalez, Witherspoon, Smith are all off the board, and they've traded Thornton for an additional 1st round pick.

Otherwise, OT, CB, and LB are bigger needs and there are more impactful players at those positions than Flowers.

I disagree WR is a Need as those positions you mentioned. They saw Flowers up close and personal at the Shrine and he cemented that performance at the Combine. Flowers have been climbing up the charts and yeah you take a guy like that if you get the chance. I am expecting that apology!

Yup. WR is a major need. We have to upgrade that position. Without Meyers (who is a #2) we only have some #3s on the roster and the FA class is weak. I hope they double dip at WR and target guys with speed/separation.

As an aside, I watched Addison's highlights from 2021 (100rec/1600yds/17TDs), and imho, Steelers HAVE to do everything in their power to get him because he and Pickett have that connection like Burrow/Chase... which means I hope they don't do that.
The Steelers GM talking out of his arse or doing a terrible job at hiding his tell. For receivers already in the league, yeah, maybe (Welker/Moss/Kupp with Stafford), but for rookies?

"...given the offseason that you have and the time guys spend together, I think the transition of new receivers trying to get acclimated to quarterbacks is not a hard process."

So, we're taking a very small slow guy...

Hey @BaconGrundleCandy - what's your take on Bryce Ford-Wheaton? Combine Warrior? Or later round dark horse?

6'4
40- 4.38
30cone: 6.97
Shuttle - 4.15
Broad - 10'9
Vertical - 41

Saw a post that the only other WR to post those sorts of numbers was Metcalf. .

WR is NOT a need in the same realm as OT and CB..

No. You don't take a guy like Flowers in the 1st round. He's not the sort of game changer you're making him out to be.

Flowers hasn't been "climbing the charts". He's ben talked about as a mid-1st to early 2nd pick since before the Shrine game. Personally, i think it screams to the lack of top end talent available. Flowers is no Metcalf, Calvin Johnson, Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, or Mike Evans. He's not even an Anquan Boldin. Sorry.

Yeah Ok when BB Drafts Zay Flowers you'll bend like the prevailing wind.

Worked two doubles past few nights. I'm pretty much done with the offensive side of the PTP. Just need to run the #'s on defense. Should be good tomorrow. Wanted it out but the combine kind of snuck up and there's no use in doing it twice might as well wait for the unknown.

Freeland is OT3 for now though after Wright and Broderick Jones. Waiting on Paris pro day.

I'm way, way out of the loop this year, so I'm slowly reading and catching up. I've just started to watch a few players. So far, I like Downs as a route runner and think he could be a good slot guy, and I'm intrigued by Mingo as a bigger player with some impressive catches down the field. I'd be pretty happy double-dipping on those players somewhere in the 2-4 range, provided we already draft an OT and maybe CB.

Any receivers I absolutely have to watch?
