Hey @BaconGrundleCandy

Where do you think Simmons will be best suited, as that Hybrid LB or SS type?

I was watching Clemson last week and they said he runs 40 in 4.3 to 4.4. He seems to be an athletic freak that is also smart and understands the game.

Honestly Idk, first thoughts are hybrid. I think its a lot more important to pair him w a smart, creative DC.

You want his explosion around the los & coverage abilities away from it but it takes a decisive defensive mind to really pull that out next level.

I'd love to see him here but i think hes a top 20 prospect kinda guy, but who knows.

Just been trying to think of teams that would use his talents in the best way. Just looks a solid guy for the next 10 years

Minne, Buff, TB, Carolina, Denver??

I like him too but nervous abt what the big shots think of him. He needs someone who really knows what they're doing. Otherwise look at Barron, Bucannon (who I really liked) & others. Multiple/hybrid guys really need a plan.

Some coaches are still stuck in the past

We play a pattern matching cover 3 defense and the single most important position in that defense is safety.

All our safeties are a little older now and at some point we are going to need a safety/leader capable of stepping in and continuing the tradition of strong communication and getting every body on the same page as far as responsibilities and coverages.

Unfortunately, I have not seen anybody in this draft that is capable.

Burrows absolutely destroyed McKinney and the entire Alabama secondary.

McKinney made a ton of bad calls.

that was uglier than a godell family reunion!

The best safety I have watched this year is the kid from Georgia, lecountte or something like that.

the dude is a ball magnet. He might not be draft eligible, but he is pro ready.

Alohi Gilman Declared. A little surprising. He was great this year but I thought he didn’t have as good of a year this year.

He’s only a sophomore next year but Kyle Hamilton is an absolute stud for ND

Seems like a safe position to draft. I would of thought Simmons available until the last 20 or so days where he just blew up into a top 15 prospect.

Idk I think he was always out of reach. He's going to have an incredible combine as well.

Davis, Winfield, Dugger, McKinny, Chin, Nasirildeen & a few others definitely worth a look.

Mentioned Ashtyn Davis here. He's a PTP for sure. Former walk-on. Played S/ST & excelled at both. Tough kid that doesn't mind getting dirty. Likes setting the tone.
A bit hesitant at times the closer he gets to the line. Would love to see stop thinking or maybe he doesn't trust his quicks but seems to be doing too much thinking at times closer to the los. Seems like a smart player all around tho.
Reliable in the back end. Smooth fluid player changing direction.

Definitely someone to follow.

Such a chesspiece, would love to see him in a Belichick defense but he'll be long gone

To me he's more of a chess piece than a traditional LB, but he'll be taken high/1st LB off the board in this LB prospect lacking class
