Best I’ve felt after a Patriots loss… EVER…

This season is phase 1. Now we have the QB in place, maye IMO will continue to get better and better each week this season. He will have shown why there should be a reason to come to NE if your a WR. Getting the QB is 90%of the process.. adding pieces around the QB is the rest. We also have to remember.. this is year one of an entirely new staff. I believe a #1 will be available by trade or in FA..
Good point.

Of course they will need to figure out if AVP is the right guy for OC or not. He's the one that is most likely to go if things don't improve.

Not sure how any of this changes the general consensus that Maye was too young, needed some time to sit and watch. It doesn’t…
He needed at least a few weeks, but he could have definitely played G5 against Miami, which we would have won with him.

Your right. Also AVP is tied to Drake. I believe Brissett did nothing to make AVP look credible as a play caller. AVP now has a chance to change the narrative with Drake. If in wich I fully expect him too Drake continues to play well the rest of the season then AVP needs to get some credit for that.

Agree. I think he would have lit up Miami for at least 2 TDs and we win that game.

The thing is - now that we've seen him, listened to him post-game, and listened to what teammates are saying about his poise and command, he would've been ready enough a week or two sooner.

Yep.

I guess too they want to avoid him having multiple OC's to begin his career. That can damage a QB.

I wonder what they will do about backup next season. Brissett, Milton, and possibly a free agent are options.

I believe Milton is here for the long haul. The team will develop Milton as a backup up and build up his trade commodities over time. He has all the measurables. Big, strong, tough and has a rocket arm. I feel that AVP just has to continue to build on his resume as a OC.. let's say Drake ends up being a pro bowl level player by season end.. AVP will be looked at much differently.

Definitely feel better about our ability to put some points on the board. If Maye can clean up the TOs we are competitive vs good teams.

In turn, I feel worse about our ability to stop teams from putting points on the board.
Texans even without Nico Collins are damn effective on offense.

Couple turnovers also did not help.

Agreed. Ryan's and OC slowick they allow CJ to be aggressive and attack.

Ok. I'll just continue to listen to you repeat what Lombardi says... it's always great to listen to what a guy who's been fired from every NFL job held and was the guy who chose to draft Jamarcus Russell. No thanks. I will listen to anything bill says but not your hero Lombardi.
I don’t repeat what Lombardi says, in fact I don’t recall bringing him up in this conversation at all until you did.

Suggesting “sit Maye until he’s ready” as being a Lombardi idea is you looking for friends here to help you make your silly point.

Every and anybody who scouted Maye said he was raw, green, but you know better…. sounds legit.

Maybe, he made a fair amount of stupid errors against Houston. I think people here are confusing arm talent with mental capacity.

Agree. And there's no reason to expect the defense to be more than mediocre this year. In June, if you'd been told that they are losing Barmore, Judon, and Peppers, and that Gonzo would come back down to earth, and that the penalties would go up (coaching transition?), we'd have predicted it.

They'll need every draft pick they can get for their top 3 first rounder this year. Still need to add three players on each side of the ball and I suspect it'll be a couple of years before free agents see New England as desirable.
In a normal year, $100M buys several players in addition to the extensions. Yes, we need a WR, LT, RT, C, DT, LB and CB.

Shame on

Shame on AVP for not having a good running game against a to Defense without his starting RB and a horrible OL that lost two players durung the game. The most we should have hoped for was no further injuries, especially at QB.

I'm still looking for you to provide your expert draft research since you " told us", and your standing on your soap box now. And friends. I thought you were my friend wozzy. Lol

Rob: Maye took some vicious shots from borderline NFL players masquerading as Offensive Tackles maybe you're ok with it but I'm not. Wolf's next move should be getting a Competent Tackle to protect Maye via a Trade. He's an idiotic GM if that doesn't happen.

What are you talking about? First you didn’t want Maye at all, then you were screaming for them to play Maye knowing full well that the OL sucked, now you want them to trade valuable picks because they can’t protect him. The idiot here isn’t Wolf.

You're just pissed because you would rather watch Brissett: many here don't share your sentiments, cry us a river.

44 yards total, no including Maye's rushing, with a 2.1 average per carry is abysmal. You can make excuses but that is so bad there are no excuses.

Not pissed at all, I’m happy Maye demonstrated to all of you who didn’t want him that he could be their QB of the future. I just think that you’re a knee jerk idiot who wants instant answers to any problem they have. You want them to trade away valuable picks for mediocre players, and you want them to overspend for the same. You don’t seem to have any grasp of the work it takes to build a championship team, and really only seem to want to be “ entertained” this week. In short you are the last person who should be calling Wolf an” idiot,” because you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.

For for last time everybody knows including my Grandmother that Maye was going be our pick, whether we wanted him @ #3 or not. So your prediction is nothing unique: here's a secret Ivan come close Maye going Third overall lis not a secret. Williams and Daniels are very good too though Daniels is looking very Special.

A couple of weeks before the Draft that was pretty true, but not in February and March, which is when most of the discussions took place , and at no point did you ever want Maye. But that’s also avoiding my real point, which is that you always want them to overspend, be it with picks or players, for the immediate “ fix,” and always to the detriment of building a true long term contender, which is how you win Super Bowls. And as dire a need as there is to fix the OL giving up valuable picks for mediocre players is a terrible idea, and only leads to a mediocre team.
