You really think a checkdown is a product of Josh McDaniels? Disagree. Every play that's designed has a checkdown. My point is that Drake does not want to take the check down. He's always looking to make a play down the field. That is not a Josh McDaniels thing. If it was, when did Tom Brady have the same issue? Tom was the best at getting the ball out of his hands quickly. And can we stop quoting what coaches say? There is such a thing called coach speak for a reason. To use that as some kind of justification that he's checking the ball down efficiently is quite the leap. Have you watched Drake play at all in college? I would imagine the answer is no because he was exactly the same way in college. This is not a Josh McDaniels issue. This is a Drake Maye issue. I love Drake. He's a great quarterback, but it's okay to say that he needs to get the ball of his hands a little quicker when the pocket is collapsing. There's a reason why sacks are often considered a quarterback stat.
