At the very least, the WR coaches, the OL coaches & the DC all must be fired on Black Monday. I also believe that, unfortunately, the FO, HC & the rest of his staph all stay, though AVP could go either way; those comments by Jonathan from the owner's box were revealing...

Not cleaning out the whole house just prolongs what should have been done after the 2022 debacle of a season. This isn't a matter of a year too early, this is going on half a decade too late. RKK needs to start using his eyes instead of his gut.

This is twice he’s out with the clots. It’s a difficult condition to treat. His case is treatment resistant at lower levels of blood thinners. Blood thinners are risky for professional athletes, especially if they play contact sports. There’s risk of brain bleeding, bleeding from trauma, organ damage…

This is a career ender. He’s already made millions of dollars. Does he want to lose his life to make a few million more?

Bold claim, but where do you want to put your money?
But do we know for sure he had another clot and/or treatment resistant?

I agree signs don't look good but do we really know anything?

To continue the wife analogy, Kraft needs to work on it before giving up and getting divorced. Mayo isn’t just a quickie driveby massage.
Why would a marriage analogy apply? You don’t hire a coach in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer until death do you part.
You hire him because you think he is the best man for the job and the day you see he isn’t, you plan his exit.

Did you purposely spell “staff” like the infection. If so, I commend you.

Because it’s about how Kraft sees it. He has always described his business as one of relationships. I think that’s exactly how he views it with Mayo, and maybe with Wolf.

We won't "really know anything" until he does retire, and only then if someone is paying attention to what he says at that point.
But, it is a reasonable educated guess that the normal treatments haven't worked well for him, given the length of recovery and the fact that he's back in it again. There just aren't that many mainline treatment regimens for blood clots that would leave someone able to play pro football. When they first announced, I didn't understand why anyone at that time would think he's a high likelihood return. Those guys break blood vessels anytime there's a hard hit. Healthy clotting capability is required for playing the sport.

I still remember from my youth, my karate coach saying, "Hit them hard! We don't want just bruising, we want internal bleeding!" And me saying, a little too loud, "That's what bruising is." Next practice partner for me was about 30 pounds bigger.

Then he is an idiot.

So you blame the WR coach and the OL coach?
OL wasn't well stocked to begin with and was decimated by injury. WR I don't like giving Polk and Baker a pass and just blaming the coaches.

I can see blaming the defense but from a coach standpoint that's more on Mayo as a defensive minded HC.

It really should be all or nothing. There really is little case for nothing other than one year is really quick.

So I lean towards all but I just can't get myself to fully commit to a reset so I can see where the Kraft's will wind up middling it and I just wish as management they would have more conviction either way than me.

I blame the one who hired them; but Kraft is cheap so Ron Wolf's kid stays, as does the HC unfortunately.

BeBedard is just another "nattering nabob of negativity" who makes $$$ off of bashing the Patriots..
For some reason that is well liked among many fans today..
So you must be one of the not "many" fans who approves of the product on the field.

Another excellent article by Bedard after the game.

Why isn't Mayo getting more involved with the defense on game day? It's supposed to be his area. Bill used to get on his hands and knees, working hard to help the players fight through a bad stretch, even when his son was the defensive coach. Bill acted like he cared.

No sense of urgency.

The New England Bureaucrats.

Mayo should have taken over DC duties several games ago to prove to the league he can be a DC for his next gig.

BB did more hands-on coaching in one game than Mayo has done his whole career.

Back then you had a HC with a systemized program, which is very different than this situation.

This is a coach who has never had a program in place.

Two completely different scenarios.
