BB met with Lawson

If we got Lawson, I think we would still take a run stopping LB later. And along the lines of what I've suggested before see a rotation of (assume Schlegal but fill in whatever name you like) :

Run Downs :
OLB : Vrabel, Colvin
ILB : Bruschi, Schlagel

Pass Downs :
OLB : Lawson, Colvin
ILB : Bruschi, Vrabel

Basically, Vrabel, Colvin and Bruschi are three down guys with Schlagel and Lawson rotating. Without Lawson we would have TBC, or someone, in that spot. That Pass Downs lineup, I have to admit, is very exciting.

Down the road, Lawson would hopefully get some bulk and be a full time guy.

But I fear the 3-4 teams will grab him before us. (Cleveland, Dallas, San Diego...)
If we want him, we will have to trade up.

I expect your right, still, NE may get lucky, and if not, there are other options who will also work out for Dean Pees.

I've heard there is a great sleeper at ILB named Oliver Hoyte. In addition you can find blue collar nitty gritty run stuffers in the middle rounds ala Ted Johnson. Also BB said that if they draft a college LB he will most likely play inside, regardless of if he played outside in college.

One reason why Greeway or Carpenter make the most sense. Both can play OLB or ILB.

But there are other options in this draft.

I'm not sure Greenway can play OLB in a 34. Even if he could, his coverage skills make him more valuable playing off the LOS.

Carpenter is probably the 1 guy who can play both inside and outside in a 34 right away. Still, I'd rather have a guy who can get to the QB and Lawson could be the best in this draft.

I found it intresting that dallas has had no contact with him at all

yeah but lots of teams dont contact person they pick. example few years ago: DeAngelo Hall never met with ATL but he got picked in 1st round. Same with Mankins..we never met with him

From reading that blog i also get the impression Denver will use the 49ers 2nd rounder to take Stovall.

How credible is a guy who calls Hodge a "steel" in the 2nd round?
