Only if you don't care what he paid. And J Smith was clearly a bust.

Do you hope Jonnu Smith rebounds and performs better next season?

1) were not contendèrs with the top teams in the conference
2) this "rebuild" which has really been a retooling couched as a rebuild is due to Bill's crapping drafting for years.

Once again, you are an idiot who has absolutely no idea what you are talking about. When Brady left Belichick then cleared out a ton of cap space to start rebuilding the franchise, drafted and started a rookie b and made it back to the playoffs a year later. The league understands just how difficult that is to do and recognized it. This isn’t fantasy football, and the unfortunate side effect of fantasy football is that millions of idiots just like you think a great team can be built in one season, and anything short of a championship is a failure. And message boards like this are flooded with morons like you spewing idiotic sh.t about GM’s and coaches not knowing what they are doing, when you don’t even understand what they actually doing.

Go back to the Tampa Bay forum you disingenuous clown. You're trying mighty hard to make this recent post there a self-fulfilling prophecy:

"I don't think the main form is going to be worth reading for quite some time. That lost to Buffalo coupled with the collapse at the end of the season it's not going to make for very happy posters. Not to mention that the team is not set up salary cap wise to have to fill a lot of holes given how much money Bill spent last offseason."

He’s a troll.

So is this a lifetime achievement award? He went out and spent $165 mil and missed on many of the those guys. Draft was good not spectacular. Jones was sitting there at 15. I would have thought the Rams GM would have gotten it for Stafford, Miller and OBJ.

Sounds like Brady’s retirement is imminent, which leaves you without a team to root for. Don’t even bother to pretend you are a Patriots fan going forward as you have demonstrated that you clearly aren’t, and that your primary purpose here is to talk sh.t snd troll this forum.

the draft is part of the offseason. Youre not going to hit on all your fa and picks but overall bb did a great job this offseason. When evaluating this offseason and season its important to remember where we were heading into it and HOW many holes there were to fill. Especially with one of them being qb - the hit rate on qbs is not the best in this league so that hit weighs considerably.
I think it's still a bit early to call Mac a hit.

Agree about the amount of holes they had to fill. I wish Bill had hit on a little higher percentage but he did okay.

Mike Vrabel was not deserving at all for Coach of the year. His team stumbled into the #1 seed and then instantly vanished.
He lost what everyone knows is the key to their offense and had Tannehill as his QB. Vrabel should be in the run every year but this last one was special. I wouldn't mind him taking over for Bill.

Well deserved but unfortunately this will create a brand new wave of uneducated trashing of him in these pages.
I'm only about halfway through but it hasn't been too bad.

Vrabes went 6-3 w/o Henry which is somewhat commendable.

However the offense averaged a touchdown less per game. Incredible.

Agree on Vrabel, I would take him over anyone as Belichick’s replacement. And if Sean Payton was ready to return he would be right up there as well.

And they got the #1 seed in the AFC

Barring a baker mayfield type regression in the following years he is a hit. He’s already proven to be a completely capable starting qb in the nfl, simply check his peers this year and historically the amount of drafted qbs that fall on their face in this league. Starting qbs dont grow on trees.

obviously were all hoping he progresses into a top 10 or best case scenario a top 5 qb and id be overall disappointed if he didn’t grow. But even in the scenario that he wouldn’t progress one bit from what he did this year, you have a starting qb on a rookie contract. Compare his contract to veteran middle of the pack qbs and even some qbs performing lower, its an absolute bargain over 4 years. Its a hit with potential to be a home run.

Well deserved. While most of the FAs didn’t do enough to earn their keep, the signings of guys like Judon, Henry, and Bourne were huge. The draft class is also looking great based on early returns as well.

Ppl also forget cam cost one million dollars there’sa reason bb did what he did.

we don’t draft harry if Brady’s not around either.

we certainly rebuilt. We just did it better than the lions and jets do.

We beat the #1 seed. We beat the #3 seed. We didn’t play the other “top teams in the conference”.

What dies (2) even mean? What exactly is a “retool couched as a rebuild”?
Over 40% of the snaps were played by players who were not here the year before. There is pretty much no such thing as a bigger rebuild than that.

Are you one of those posters that believes every player is overpaid?

No. We’ve had plenty of players on great deals where they were arguably underpaid. Gronk springs to mind. Or Brady. Or Edelman. Even Gilmore more than lived up to his big contract

This roster is indefinitely better than last year at this time. Lot of work left to do though.
