BB should be allowed to coach and GM until he breaks Shula’s record no matter how the team does

looking ahead to 2023...barring a great stretch run for the Pats, they're playing a third, or gasp - fourth place schedule....that means games likely vs cle/Pitt, jac/hou, and car/no. that should be three wins in the books in bill the coaches quest to overtake Shula.

F.uck no.

That being said Shula is vastly overrated and isn’t even a top 5 of all time. If you fail to win a SB with Marino you suck.

Fùck no

If you agree, then you're more of a Belichick fan than a Patriots fan. One year is different from multiple seasons of being bad.

I hope some of y'all voting "yes" weren't the same people who were fine or even happy to see Brady leave, and who accuse others of not being "real Pats fans".

"Let him stay" implies we have a choice, not sure about that.
Have pretty much contended he needs to do something different, better, with his assistants. Suggest:
Move Patricia into an Ernie Adams role up stairs.
Laterally move Judge into O line coach.
Bring back Bill O'Brien or Josh McDaniels (after he is fired) as O coordinator.
A quarterback coach is needed, not sure who.
Figure an upgraded role for Nick Caley to keep him here.
Promote Jerrod Mayo to Assistant HC, he will be heir apparent to BB.
Name Steven Belichick to D Coordinator

Yes.

You know that he will put the work into preparing the team. There are always going to be things that go right, that will go wrong... That's football. The days of consecutive 12-14 wins per year might be behind us, it doesn't mean this team cannot be competitive yiyo.

Until there is a time that you can positively identify a successor there is no reason to replace him. Let him play out the string on his own accord.

BB has been successful for so long due to his ability to understand and adapt to the evolution of the game. He is still one of the best at in game decisions, I don't think he will stay if the team is hopeless. To date he has not been successful adapting to the new practice rules. His move to change the offense to be simpler is likely an attempt to have a system that the players can learn with fewer practice reps. It is becoming obvious that the coaching pipeline that allowed the team to seamlessly survive defections is broken. Given the number of coaches that left he may be forced to go outside of his network to fill the gaps.

Given some of his other 31 brethren, I would say Kraft might want to re-think that assertion.

And he should forever kiss the arse of the biggest arse in his life.

I'd rather have Bill stay and have him bring in better assistants. In fact, go back and look at the coaching staff from 2000-2005 then look at the coaching staff now.
Absolutely, people sometimes forget Bill is a Parcells deciple. Parcells knew how to identify talent be coaching and of course players.. as you stated that 2000- 2005 era Bill had excellent coaches including wiess and crennel! Dabol was in that mix also..
