I am cautiously optimistic. He was cleared for return to play last year too but that didn’t work out. He’s a difference maker for sure.

Yeah that is a bit of a concern with slightly smaller LBs but at the same time, Williams and Barmore aren't exactly small and can stop the run decently well, and Spillane is a decent run stopper also. They can also sub in guys like Tonga or (gulp) Tavai if a team is particularly run-heavy.

He never should have been cleared last year... there was no real reason to bring him back... glad hes had the time to fully recover

I think it's something all teams have issues with. As teams combat the modern passing game by putting more DBs and pass rushers on the field everyone is a little lighter than they used to be and have to figure out how to not get beat by backs and TEs.

We've got Safeties that can help with that and Gonzo and Davis should be able to handle their own so that we can play that way.
