it is odd, but at last the core of the team is still here and together despite losing mcginest, givens, and av. they had a good draft. we're looking at deion and the 51st, 52nd, and 53rd roster spots. keep the faithSlagathor said:This has been the most CONFUSING offseason ever.
One move makes less sense than the previous. I'm not passing judgement on the brain trust here, but these moves remind of dudes manipulating their FF team an hour before game time.
I dunno if all these moves will benefit or harm the finished product, I JUST DON'T GET.
this must only mean that they expect deion back for game 1, something must be in the works.fgssand said:He's a nice kid, but face it , he sux. Caldwell will do fine here as a 3/4.

I dont see much chance of Bam making it through waivers. Why this guy and not Mike Hass? Did someone else already claim him and I missed it?
Ahriman said:I don't like this move at all. Childress was looking like a young Troy Brown out there. Scrapping for everything he could get and showing that same shiftiness that Brown did in his early years. Of course, i'm not saying that Bam would've become all that TB is, but geez, what is the reasoning behind this move?
You think Brady is pleased that he has to get all of these guys on the same page after camp has closed and the season is about to start? Where are the considerations for that?
Caldwell is really looking like a waste of space. Bam actually gets open and doesn't drop the ball. I realize it was only preseason but Caldwell's numbers are horrible throughout his career.fgssand said:He's a nice kid, but face it , he sux. Caldwell will do fine here as a 3/4.
And he hasnt played a regular season game for the Patriots. Thanks for your rapid judgement before the season actually begins. He was shaky in preseason, completely new to the Patriots, completely new to the playbook, way different. I didnt expect him to be amazing. Relax and give the guy a frigging chance in the regular season. God, I'm sick of the huge negativity towards him. Yes he hasnt looked great in preseason but you say he looks like Duane Starks. I'm sorry but the guy hasnt played a regular season game, why isnt Chad Jackson being completely ragged on? He hasnt played yet, he must suck. I've tried to hold in my frustration hearing the comments on how Caldwell already sucks because of the preseason and how Dillon will be replaced because he didnt get lots of yards in the preseason. Ellis Hobbs must've sucked because he didnt get an INT...its like the preseason means everything. Give them a freaking chance, some of you.BoTown said:I still remember, not at this board necessarily but other boards, the praise that Caldwell was getting when the Pats signed him. This guy is looking like the WR version of Duane Starks. I always figured him to be a scrub and that assessment hasn't changed. He was considered the 5th best receiving option in San Diego, and it's not as if they are running the Fun and Gun offense of the Rams. He's played in 4 NFL seasons and hasn't had more than 28 receptions. If there were any justice, and Branch and Jackson were available to line up on that field, that would stay the same, no more than 28. But he'll probably see a lot of time on the field by default. I don't consider him to be any better than our 5th best receiver, and that's not including the TE's and Kevin Faulk. As far as receiving options go, he's way down there.
Hope I'm wrong about the guy, but he hasn't impressed me.
You're very welcome.Kdo5 said:And he hasnt played a regular season game for the Patriots. Thanks for your rapid judgement before the season actually begins.
You're forgetting that Bam had Caldwell across from him to draw the coverage. (Okay, and Brady instead of Losman throwing the ball.)lobster said:These are the stats in pre-season - Bam clearly looks to be the better player:
Against the Giants, Bam was 6 for 116 yards of which 4 for 62 yards were in the 1st half. Bam also had 2 KR for 45 yards and 2 PR for 5 yards. Against the Lions Jo.Smith was 2 for 14 yards, none in the first half.
Against the Redskins Bam was 2 for 23 yards, none in the first half. Against the Browns Jo.Smith was 1 for 5 yards, none in the first half.
Against the Cardinals Bam was 3 for 75 yards, of which 2 for 49 yards were in the first half. Against the Bengals Jo.Smith was 1 for 15 yards, none in the first half. Jo. Smith also had 5 KR for 106 yards.
