Bam Childress waived

Sounds like Smith will contribute on special teams more than on offense.

*sigh* I really hope Chad Jackson can see some action soon.

Great move by the Pats.

They waited until after cuts, when most teams already have their practice squads built, to cut Bam.

It will now be a helluva lot easier to sneak him back on the practice squad.

Meanwhile they get Smith, who has more NFL experience and is a pretty damn good kick returner.

Re: Childress released; WR Smith claimed

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

BRANCH WONT COME BACK. BAM RELEASED BUT IF THATS THE CASE WE'RE LEFT WITH ONLY 4 RECIEVERS CONSIDERING BRANCH IS DONE WITH US.

Maybe this means Jacksons fine?

Comment:

He is on the shorter side and doesn't have good bulk. He lacks strength and will get pushed around at times. He has marginal top-end speed. He shows good vision, shiftiness and elusiveness as a PR but he lacks explosive top-end speed to ever become a legitimate weapon in that area. He does, however, provide good versatility as a back-end-roster-type player. He is elusive in space and shows good vision and patience with the ball in his hands. He does have very reliable hands. Shows good awareness and route running skills for a young player. Does a nice job of finding soft spots in zone.

The Patriots should release an alternate version of Where's Waldo starring Chad Jackson.

childress wont go to PS because teams saw him and they know hes good

This could possibly mean Chad Jackson is ready to play.

I dont see much chance of Bam making it through waivers. Why this guy and not Mike Hass? Did someone else already claim him and I missed it?

Well, I wish that Chlldress would have been part of this team. I've been watching him for a couple of years now and really like the way he plays the game. I hope he gets to the PS, but I have some reservations about that happening.

I don't know anything about Smith, but I hope he's a good WR and Returner on the STs.

Goes to show you how bad our recievers our when you get a reject
player from the Bills. After all look at the great ones they have up there

This is a puzzler. Honestly, who's looked better at wideout so far than Bam? WTH...

maybe BB felt Bam deserves a better shot to play elsewhere and was being nice...just a thought :\

What?

good point, i'm really disappointed by the bam move. I think he has great upside. Looks like he's in troy brown's mold with people doubting him and he'll have to continue to battle.

Hope the Pats know something we don't. Peculiar move.

this just gets me a bit angrier caldwell is on this team. he better cowboy up soon

consider Dane Looker and Sean Morey

Bam will play for someone

well you never know with Deion situation..what if we trade Deion and get a #1 WR in return?

Thats puts:
#1-the acquired player
#2-Gabriel
#3-Caldwell
#4-Troy Brown/Bam
#4-Brown/Bam

look at Cowboys situation..Owens-Glenn-Crayton...
Jaguars-Jones-Wilford-Williams-?
Packers-Who do they have but Driver + Jennings? FErguson blows

Chiefs need WR..so u never know

This has been the most CONFUSING offseason ever.

One move makes less sense than the previous. I'm not passing judgement on the brain trust here, but these moves remind of dudes manipulating their FF team an hour before game time.

I dunno if all these moves will benefit or harm the finished product, I JUST DON'T GET.

Why did we do this move? Childress would have made some plays for us next weekend vs the Bills. We have two WRs who made it through camp in Brown and Caldwell, Jackson who is hurt and hasn't been on the field, and Gabriel who has a week to learn the playbook.
