Which WR's make the cut?

We need to see some more people on kickoffs too. Am I insane, or does Slater look nearly as good as Tate as a WR? I say this, because the role of 5th-6th receiver on any team is essentially trying to avoid splinters.

If Ocho and Price work in, that means 9 or 10 opportunities to go long, or surprise the D, with the rest of the season being the 3 other WRs trying to take away opportunities from Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Faulk, Vereen or others.

An ass on the bench with potential but little production is the same as any other ass in the short term.

I thought Slater looked better than Tate because Slater actually got behind the defense. Taylor has passed Tate. With kickoff returns a thing of the past, Tate's value is diminished and his injury prevents him from competing. There is not enough quality depth here, so I see keeping Edelman as the 5th WR (+PR), and 1-2 WRs on the PS.

Oh Wow, if you take away the two longest kick returns, his average drops significantly.

If I take away Leon Washington's 3 TDs, he drops to 21.3.

My only point was he didn't look exceptional in the second half of the season. Since you then went on a statistical splurge, it's pretty fair of me to eliminate the only two returns over 40 yds and give his statistical result for the year minus them since his 2nd half average would have been that or less, likely, an average that was about 60th.

I never said he wasn't a good returner, in fact I said the opposite. In the second half, he didn't look as good and I'm sure if I had all the stats it would show about the same. Obviously, if we only took first half statistics, he was one of the very best.

I didn't originally base it on his statistics, you did, I based it on watching the games, which we all did, and many commented that he looked tentative in the second half.

Brandon Tate was essentially a rookie last year, I don't get the hate. I don't love the guy but give him a legit chance.

I don't hate Tate at all. Unfortunately for him and others, this team is stacked and we have Ocho and price looking very good and a former special teams wiz who looks like he's ready to compete as a backup WR, with outstanding special teams and he was a top returner in school.

If indeed Slater has gained confidence, with the lesser emphasis on kick returns by rule, it seems Tate is in a real battle.

First off, looking at Price, Tate's ceiling might have gone from 2nd to 4th - 5th -6th receiver in a swoop. Does he get the roster spot while working on his receiving, or does someone else (ocho).

I hope people don't hate one guy and love another, that's just silly.

We're talking about a roster spot on a loaded team. If Price looks like the better young receiver, it comes down to a versatile special teams guy who can occasionally step in at receiver. The second WR position seems no longer available with ocho there IMO.

I'll take Buddy Farnham anyday, why the lack of love?
