People mention Asante's blown interception because he LAUGHED about it immediately instead of being pi$$ed.

Asante was the one who was supposed to have Tyree on the immaculate catch but gave up on the play. Asante was also the one who allowed Tyree to go free instead of making sure he had help over the top that led to Tyree's TD..

Asante doesn't "get it." The joking around after that drop told me everything I needed to know about his desire to win. Didn't see Rodney wise cracking after the Tyree catch, or Brady yucking it up after he throws an INT.

Bottom line is that had he made that interception, the Pats win the super bowl--game over--and accomplish the most triumphant season in NFL history. Failing in that situation is something you absolutely do not joke about. Asante became the NEP's version of Bill Buckner on that day.

His most probable destination: Oakland. :singing:
