Hunter or
Multiple First Round Picks.
There is no team with multiple first-round picks at the moment, and I don't see anyone willing to trade away next year's first to move up in this year's draft.

The best they'd be likely to get is a pair of seconds (one this year, one next year) or something like that.

Yes I think your right.. so I'm thinking maybe Graham? Or Campbell??
Graham=Yes. Campbell=Not at #4. If we stay at #4 and Carter isn't there, they'd better take Graham, as he's the surest thing to a stud that's worthy of the #4 overall pick. I wouldn't take Campbell in the Top 10. I was a huge fan of his during the season, but when his arms are as short as they are expected to be and many are stating that he's better suited at OG, he's not someone you should take at #4. I'd rather take Will Johnson, Jalon Walker, or Tyler Warren in the Top 10 before I'd take Campbell. Wyatt Milum would be a better LT Prospect in the Teens or towards the end of the 1st Round, beginning of the 2nd Round than Campbell at LT.

Hell id take the safety from Georgia ahead of Campbell.

Drafting Campbell at 4 seems like a reach. Agree if Graham is there would take him.
Campbell has trex arms

By the way FU Mayo
We would be getting Carter or Hunter if not for you

I suspect there are going to be some Multi-All Pro Players that will be steals based on where they're picked (and not the marquee names). The kind of players we look back on and in hindsight find that they were Top 5 -7 Players in this Draft. That's why I'm so high on Jalon Walker, Jihaad Campbell, Will Johnson, Kenneth Grant, and Jack Sawyer (in addition to a few other players).

If the Campbell you mean is Jihaad Campbell, then Yes! But we can get him in a trade-down or move up in the 2nd Round (although I think he goes in the first round). He's a 2 inch shorter Quay Walker (who we could probably get from the Packers for a 5th this draft and a 6th next draft, or a 5th and 6th this draft). The Packers don't want to pay his 5th Year Option and we totally could, and would probably extend him.

Not a great draft to be sitting at 4.
Top 3 would be fine or 10-15.
Good players will be there at 10-15 probably just as good as at 4.
The win against the Bills was so costly for this franchise.

Do not care one iota if anyone thinks its an over draft. Do not care of Sean McVay laughs at us again.

This one is really simple. Football for Dummies simple. Football 101.

Get a Left Tackle.

Don't play games. Don't overthink it. Don't **** it up.

we need this more than a guy in the Foxy Lady needs one dollar bills.
I don't think it's that simple. There's no slam dunk LT at #4. Is the tackle available at #38 almost as good as the guy you'd take as an overdraft at #4? I think it's BPA this time around. There's too many holes.

Problem is risk we would be drafting a guard at 4. Supposedly if his arm length is 33 or geater at combine He can probably play LT. If less than 33 he may be a guard

There are holes

and there are holes

order of operations
fill the biggest hole first

You need high quality dirt to fill in the hole or it will cave in quickly

Not costly at all if you hit. Most likely one of Hunter, Carter or Graham ends up being very underwhelming and doesn't sniff a pro bowl. That's just how draft works and how the odds work.

As long as the guy we get is a solid contributor that fills a gap, it's fine. I'd take 3-4 of those in one draft than get one All Pro and a bunch of duds.

As some old coach once said "it's about building a team, not collecting talent"

"Don't play games. Don't overthink it. Don't **** it up."

"Also take a massive reach on a mediocre left tackle because whether he is good or not is irrelevant to what we want him to be"

Draft Simmons out of Ohio State. ACL tears aren't what they used to be. Once that knee is set, we are good for the next ten years in that position.

Its the biggest hole we have. Could give two flying ****s if you think its a "massive reach".

its that or welcome back our returning LT Vederian Lowe.

That's a hilarious take, pretty much anywhere except where we pick would be fine.

Again, just because you want something, doesn't mean it's there. Drafting an average prospect with an injury issue over many better players. Saying "it's that or bring back Lowe" doesn't actually make him better than Lowe.

Especially nowadays when you basically need to draft a blue chip left tackle for them to have any chance anymore with how badly college develops that position.

What was the question at hand? HINT:

As of today (2/10), who do you *want* the Pats to draft first?

I *want* the best LT available in the draft. I do not care if you think taking that player at 4 is an over draft. I even told you Who I want to draft.

That is the biggest need this team has. Draft him. You do not have to compete with other teams for the players services. As of today that is the best way to fill that hole. It really is that simple.

Drafting a mediocre player is not "the best way to fill that hole".

We'd be the laughingstock of the league after the draft if we did that. I want a good lineman too. Wanting and doing insane things that will blow up in your face because you are desperate for something is how bad teams stay bad. If Joe Thomas was in the draft, yeah get him.

You say he is mediocre.

I disagree with your assessment

and again, I do not care what other people think.
