Are you all in on CB Travis Hunter at 4 (Hunter as a WR?)

Hunter and Carter probably both go top 3 and we still won't go LT because they all suck. I'd Rather McMillan, Warren, or Jeanty.
I believe Hunter will be a CB with a sprinkle of WR
I say this because every other dual threat player in College ( Champ Bailey and Charles Woodson) played CB in the NFL
Reason is because in the NFL you need to be in rhythm with your other defensive teammates or a screwup leads to a wide open man. Rhythm and cohesiveness is playing with each other regularly.
They can’t just sprinkle him in as a CB and hope he gels with the rest of the defense
On Offense you run the wrong route and it is a incompletion hopefully or the ball does not come your way.
So then it comes down to do we want a WR or LT with our first pick
Next year I may say WR
This year it has to be LT. We have a Franchise QB that finally needs to be protected properly

The good thing is Brady and Belichick gave this fanbase 20 great years and 6 Super Bowl Championships to ease the pain.

The way I see it now is Jerry Rice was meant to wear a 49ers uniform, just as Brady was meant to wear the Patriots. If Either one was drafted to another franchise things possibly could of turned out very differently.
Rice would have been teamed with Stanley Morgan. Imagine seeing those two play together.

As crazy as that sounds, there is some truth to getting a playmaker. We don’t have any.

Looking at Campbells footage, I love it. He really could be the guy. I know Dante said it don’t mean squat, but he also said the same thing about Wynn. I’m a little spooked by short arms like a lot of fans. Ready for the Matt Light, Penei Sewell and the other few good LT’s that broke the trend of short arms in the league in 3.2.1.

I say…stand pat. If Carter/Hunter are there at #4, take em’. If not then trade down or take the best OT.

I'd rather take a LT. Without an LT, Maye will not have enough time to find Hunter open. With an LT, our JAG receivers will have an extra second to get open.
Problem is we pick a LT at 4 it’s a reach. There’s no J.Alt in this draft.

I'm in the "Not all in on Hunter" minority. In fact, I have an uneasy feeling that he'll be a bust. And even if he's not a bust, I suspect he won't be neither the best CB nor WR in this draft class.

I guess I'm just mad there is no Orlando Pace type LT prospect. I want it more than WR it's just not there. I know how much of a reach RB is at 4 but honestly I keep landing on him if Hunter doesn't make it. I'm a little scared of McMillan like everyone else and TE is just as tough to justify at 4 too.

Hunter is obviously an amazing talent, but is he a sure fire blue chip WR? Is he clearly the best WR in the class? Would we draft him at 4 to play primarily CB? Does his ability to play both offense and defense provide significant added value?

I think there is a good case to make that a trade back allowing for multiple round1/2 picks is a better option especially if we want to target Simmons/Ersery/Connerly and say a WR like Burden or Golden.

What say you?
No. OT with that first pick - I like Texas OT Kelvin Banks, Jr. There are a couple of others, but Banks is ready now.

I think we have to accept that this is a really rough looking draft class and not ideal for addressing what happens to be the two biggest weaknesses on the roster currently. Also there doesn’t seem to be a consensus beyond Ward, Carter, and Hunter being virtual locks to go in the top 4. After that there is a large variance as far as who is ranked where. There are maybe 6-7 prospects who could go as high as 4 (depending which team has the pick) or as low as 21. You look at last year’s first round and compare it to the guys getting mocked in the first round this year and it’s stunning. Carter is one of the favorites to go first overall in this year’s draft class, and I’m not sure he even breaks the top 10 up against last year’s draft class.

Matt Light was an average LT his entire career. Matt Light in a redraft would never go #4 overall. So if we are hoping Campbell might be another Matt Light as his ceiling, then he would be a terrible pick at #4

Privately? LOL Like in their bedroom? Guregian is too funny with "privately".

Like Vrabs and co. have a secret that noone had any idea about? They found a real hidden gem? Every personnel person in the NFL thinks that Hunter is the best WR and best CB. Hunter won the Biletnikoff and Heisman trophies. It is a well kept secret within the basement rooms of Gillette? Privately. LOL. These writers kill me.
As bad as this team needs Campbell... I'm thinking if hunter's there we can't pass on him.. his abilities at WR are more needed than CB.. Vrabel played on both offense and defense too during his career so I'm sure he's intrigued by hunter...

The Best player pound for pound in the Draft: and it wouldn't shock you if he slides.
Hunter is BPA hands down... as much as we need Campbell twin.. we just can't pass on hunter..

I am in the minority I know that thinks that Hunter is a bit of a ??? and that I think #4 is too high for him for either position. Feel the same way about Ward and Sanders……time will tell!
He faced Big 12 talent and only 2 ranked programs last season - K State (18) and BYU (17)

Light was a Super Bowl winning starting caliber LT that started as a rookie and played for 11 seasons. You take that every time if you can get it.

Absolutely agree with you. Light was a 2nd rounder who protected the GOAT for 10 seasons.. like Campbell he too didn't have long arms.. light played with great technique and smarts... Campbell has the same traits.
