Are you all in on CB Travis Hunter at 4 (Hunter as a WR?)

I'd be happy to get off that cheap.

It probably will cost a lot more. I don't think we can be sure of anything because he could go 1. But if Ward goes 1 then we might have to move to 2 and that would certainly cost more than Milton.

It might be too expensive but I think we have to consider it because we won't have another chance at a player that good until next year and even then as we've seen free agency doesn't seem to bring that to market and hopefully we aren't picking so high in next year's draft.
the difference between 4 and 3 is 400 points. that equates to pick 50 in this years draft. so the giants get a 2nd rd top 50 pick for moving back one spot and it's a potential starting qb.

Maybe 2,

We need to get in front of the Giants and ward off any trade packages we need 2. To ensure Hunter is a Patriot.
that is an 800 pt. differential which would take the equivalent of a late first around 21. we would need to throw in more than milton at this point. if we get to 3 most likely one of hunter or carter will be there.

I am in the minority I know that thinks that Hunter is a bit of a ??? and that I think #4 is too high for him for either position. Feel the same way about Ward and Sanders……time will tell!

I'd rather take a LT. Without an LT, Maye will not have enough time to find Hunter open. With an LT, our JAG receivers will have an extra second to get open.

That's my opinion as well. Hunter is great but Oline will move the needle for us to play for a playoff spot next season.

Last draft, don't play games, get the QB, they did. This year, I'm all for a trade down.

reading that great article it seems like they know what's up. just hoping we get some luck that day and the two qbs go top 3, i'd be happy with hunter or carter tho i prefer hunter. we need offense.

Curious to know who's your #1 Player is this Draft?? FTR: Hunter is mine with Carter a close Second.
It looks like he's projected to be a CB in the NFL. Because of that, the Pats can't fall into the trap and take him if he's there. They need offense badly and can't keep hoarding DB's/defense like Bill was doing as that's what got him in trouble.

With that said, if Carter or Hunter are both available, I'd take Carter as the Pats already have a young CB in Gonzalez and need a pass rush. If both are gone, I entertain the dreaded trade down which I've always hated.

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I know **** about this kid but I do know that if he's the guy they're saying he is then he won't be there at 4.

If they trade out and he is phenomenally good, it would be tough to live that down.

I still think he is the best wr in this draft as well as the most talented cb which would make that almost impossible to pass up.

I also believe whoever drafts him better be in championship contention come contract time. I think he’s so unique and going to be so good that he will be coveted immensely by 32 teams. Money, location and his brand will come into play. As great as I think he’s going to be there will be risk imo regarding a 2nd contract. Yes, any player drafted you take that risk but this one seems doubled. Two way players like Sanders and Jackson have a special aura about them from fans. We’ve never seen anything like this if he can play both wr and cb at a high NFL level in the same sport.
Yeah, in 1985 the Patriots swapped their number sixteen pick to the Niners for San Francisco's first, second, and third round picks. The Niners got Jerry Rice, we got Trevor Matich, Garin Veris, and Jim Bowman. New England has yet to live that trade down.

No, they don’t. The Patriots have too many needs to be trading up for a receiver, and I would love to have Hunter..Even as it stands if Hunter falls to them at 4 they will have to start giving up high picks next year to get back into the first round for a tackle. The Patriots need their picks, and shouldn’t be mortgaging the future to get one player.

He would put up 1,000 yards as a rookie. Special talent, would be amazed he’s there at 4 but be ecstatic if he is.
I prefer him as a wr that plays some cb

Hunter and Carter probably both go top 3 and we still won't go LT because they all suck. I'd Rather McMillan, Warren, or Jeanty.
Still say LT
McMillan no Thanks
Jeanty. RB in first round is to much of a luxury during this part of rebuild
I like Warren.
Still take a LT over him

The good thing is Brady and Belichick gave this fanbase 20 great years and 6 Super Bowl Championships to ease the pain.

The way I see it now is Jerry Rice was meant to wear a 49ers uniform, just as Brady was meant to wear the Patriots. If Either one was drafted to another franchise things possibly could of turned out very differently.

If Travis Hunter is there at 4, yes. Absolutely. Though I’d be scared of them still trading out of that pick (and getting Ladd McConkey flashbacks). Hunter would be the “cool” pick, and that’s not what this team does, particularly at WR. I’m starting to feel like Will Campbell is going to be the pick one way or the other. One of those two left side spots on the OL would be all set for the future with Campbell, and he’d get first crack at it being at LT. If it was something like 2025 and 2026 1sts and another 2025 2nd, it would be a fierce debate on whether it was worth passing on a talent like Hunter for extra picks.

I hope Hunter is there at 4 and I hope we get him, but this feels more like Cam Ward, Abdul Carter, and Hunter will go first and leaves us with taking the top rated offensive lineman, which wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen. There should still be some good WR prospects available at 38. I don’t know that I necessarily trust Eliot Wolf to pick the right guy there, and more why I’d rather “reach” on Tetairoa McMillan at 4 (assuming Hunter and Carter are gone) and hope a guy like Aireontay Ersery is still there at 38.
