Anyone miss Thursday Night Football?

There are some college games on tonight.
Does anyone feel a "chilling" effect after the Superbowl and the entire season is officially over?

Yes, I miss it.

I will watch all NFL games, mon, thurs, sat, sun...all of them ALL.

I watch highlights every day - NFL Network, CNNSE, NESN etc.

I listen to talk radio 98.5/WEEI and NFL network (not at the same time).

I read this group and twitter feeds are primarily football related, I'm on patriots.com several times a day, I even go to opposing teams message boards to see what's going on.

My name is FGSSAND and I am a footballholic.

It's a genetic disease.

The Patriots are the main CBS early game. So no problem here. But I still prefer over saturation to give myself a greater chance of getting a Pats game on Sunday and more importantly to cause the NYJFL* to implode. Long live TNF! And let's start Saturday night game from week 1! More over saturation please! I want to see the NYJFL* implode.

Anyone remember they had Monday Night Football on the last weekend back around 1980? Yes, after everybody finished the regular season, Houston played Monday against Miami, then they had to play the next Saturday on the road. Some think the Oilers won by stealing signals, but I digress. I'm glad they stopped that as among other things, everybody playing the last regular season game on Sunday makes both the playoffs and Black Monday less problematical.

i do not like it at all with an exception of course: Thanksgiving / for the rest ,imho , the NFL should be playied ONLY on sunday and monday night

my favourite games are 1 pm sunday

Fail

The match ups were fantastic when the schedule was released. The teams may have not shown up.Too bad the NFL does not have a reliable crystal ball.

The QB match ups alone were intriguing.

10 games matched up division opponents. Only some of the marque rivalries in the NFL:Bears vs Packers, Ravens vs Steelers, Raiders vs Chiefs, Giants vs Eagles.

11 of the 12 2016 playoff teams were on TNF.
9 games were decided by 8 points or less.

All football games should be played on Sunday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 7:30 PM... no exceptions except for the Superbowl.

Thursday nite sucks and Monday nite sucks and Sunday nite sucks.

Not in the least. I only watched 3 TNF games this year (one of them the Pats). The games are trash.

I disagree, I'm not going to recall all games nor search but I could see many of them being the stinkers they end up being. Bengals x Miami, Jags x Titans, Browns x Ravens, Cardinals x 49, and others.

Last night no, the NBA had a good game on (Celts-Cavs). I watched all but one Thursday night game this season though I think...

If you're going to keep Thursday football:

Bye week before
Long week after

Exactly what I was thinking. Each team gets their bye week followed by a Thursday game instead of their next Sunday game. That would give each team a week and a half off on each side of the Thursday game. It would also give teams a chance to give some injured players a longer period of rest by only missing 1 game. There would only be 16 games needed and those could be divided up in any way during the season.

The more I think about it the more sense it makes. I wonder what the NYFL will come up with.

I have to say I'm surprising myself how often I don't bother to watch games these days. I have a TiVo and record over-the-air and most of the TNF games have been available but usually they go unwatched.

Given how NBC is messing around with its over the air signal (WCVB is being dropped Jan 1 and the fall back plan involves CH8 and CH60 for now, neither of which I can receive easily) I will probably drop out of SNF as well.

Needless to say, Mark Cuban's prediction is coming true: Hogs feed at the trough, pigs get slaughtered. Baddell's NFL is definitely getting slaughtered.

The issues you get is there are no bye weeks the first 3 weeks, at Thanksgiving and the last 4 weeks. In addition there are 3 games at Thanksgiving and Dallas and Detroit are always on there and not fair to always give them a later bye. So you could only do that for Week 1(Obviously), Week 5-11 and 14 so just over half the 15 games it would work out.

Only thanksgiving

The Thankgsiving games issue should be a non-starter, really. It's only 2 permanent teams, after all.

Yea, I've been getting home late a lot & have enjoyed putting it on as background to relax / check out fantasy stuff before going to sleep. TNF told me that tomorrow was gonna be Friday.

I agree that the games have been horrid, I think it's bad for the players in almost every way, and I really don't want to see the Patriots playing on a Thurs night, but I just like having it on.

But I also don't subscribe to NFLN. A few contradictions here in my behavior, for sure.

No, dont miss it. They need to do away with it. And in my opinion they need to make the momday game the marquee game
