Anyone else happy Moss Didn't go back to Pats?

Screw that guy. We have Mankins back now. O-line will be even better. The pats will be 7-1 after this week and looking great for a top 2 seed if they go 2/3 vs. the steelers, colts, and jets.

I'm loving this. No distractions from here on out.

Almost Sunday!
I have more of a problem with Mankins. He screwed his teammates. Why the love for that cowboy?
The record stats show that both the Pats and Vikings scored more and had more yards when Moss was on each Team this year. Welker has been a non-factor these last few games. You listen to that numskull Felger too much. He is pleading with everybody to agree with him....He get you too? I think he dislocated his arm trying to pat himself on the back with his stupid statements.
The Vikes have way more problems than Randy Moss.

he will be back at the end of the season...this isnt over

I'm relieved that he isnt back. We got rid of him for a reason, and the reason isn't because he asked politely.

Yeah, I'm thrilled. I love not having a deep threat......
only one team claimed him. one . that speaks volumes. he was a threat in the locker room ill give him that much.

OP if you hate Moss so much, isn't it about time you changed your name?

BTW Mankins has been way worse than Moss. Mankins held out, and he badmouthed the team and the owner. Then he refused to apologize for it. That's why he never got his extension and never will. The only reason Mankins is reporting now is to earn his 'time counted' towards free agency. He is way more of a Mercenary than Moss ever was.

I was pretty upset that we let him go at first. Then I started seeing how he acted with the Vikings, culminating in that press conference this past Sunday. When he hit waivers, and word of our interest came out, I have to say that I was disappointed. Look, Randy was a great teammate when he was here and did tons for us. But it's pretty obvious that he's going through some severe mental breakdown at this point, and that it was going on before he left the Pats. So yes, in the end I'm happy he didn't come back.

I dont know if happy is the right word. I thought there was zero chance he would be back. BB doesnt get rid of a player because of effort, attitude and commitment then take him back when his act gets even worse and another team dumps him.
We are better without him, thats why he is gone, and thats why he wasnt returning.
At least thats my opinion

+1

I am too tired to repeat this in my own words so there you have it...

Thank god the Titans took him and we can focus on the 6-1 Pats, best team in the league by record, whose only lost came after a supremely crappy effort by some wideout we once had in the second half of the Jets game...dropped 80% of his passes...so he was sent away for a very nice draft pick...

I would contest that Brady had every bit as bad of a game as Moss did @ the Jets.

31 teams are happy that Moss didn't go back to the Patriots.

yes ... I didn't see Bill taking him back either unless there were injuries and Randy was still out there.

I'm glad he got claimed somewhere that we won't see him unless it's the playoffs, and that we didn't have to be part of any further drama had he become a free agent. Also, he can now help another team keep Peytie-Pie and the Colts out of the playoffs for us.

I want to see Peyton in the playoffs, I keep hearing about 06 and how we only beat the Colts because of a monster defense (and camera). Now if we beat him with one of the league's worst (by stats that is) on the way to a title it makes things sweeter.

Anyways it doesn't hurt our chances of winning but I wouldn't say I am happy. I think the post game comments, release, and media rumors made me second guess not having him. Since its over with I can agree with the 'screw him' comment, lets move on to Cleveland. I just hope Tate doesn't disappear again.

You would rather see the Titans in the playoffs who have the best RB in the NFL, a solid receiving core, a highly mobile QB, and better defense than a Colts team that's beat all to hell?

I'm all for it making the division tougher for them though.

I guess I feel like we can handle the Titans better than we can handle the Colts, and that were we to face the Titans, Randy wouldn't be that much of a factor (again), although the others you mention might be (though their RB isn't having the same kind of year this year as last year). Oh well, who knows? It seems like things didn't turn out too bad for anyone, including us.

Moss is not typically a big factor in the playoffs anyway. He tends to sort of disappear.

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves anyway. How many people bemoaned the juggernaut the Vikings were supposed to be with Moss? Just take it one day at a time.

If there is even a kernel of truth that Moss would have been released if a trade hadn't happened (and I believe there is), BB clearly is not losing sleep over where Moss ended up. So I won't either.

I wanted him back. Still do. Even if Randy was "washed up" in other people's minds, and "dogging it" or whatever, it's been night and day with Brady and Welker ever since Moss was traded away. The Pats can still attack on short and intermediate but they lack the deep threat.

Having said that, I'm coming down from the disappointment of wishing for his return following his release from the Vikings, and slowly but surely reverting back to the previous mindset. Which is that the Patriots should be fine even in the absence of the greatest wide receiver to ever put on the uniform.

Despite his baggage, despite his inner demons and all that, he loved being here and was loved by players, coaches, and fans alike while he was here. You see so many athletes that spend their entire careers somewhere, only to live to try to get back at them (like Favre when he orchestrated his way to Minnesota to get revenge against Green Bay, or Roger Clemens, or Shaquille O'Neal, etc.). Moss never held it against the Pats for trading him away, and that's a rare thing to see. For that I hope that if the Patriots win the SB this season, that he gets a ring.

Is it fair to maybe speculate that Moss may be taking certain things that are making him angry? People who fly off he handle quickly sometimes have substance reasons. Not accusing but I think it's possibly a fair question because his behavior is definitely not normal and has not been since training camp.

for his sake I hope he makes it through the season without leaving a real ugly lasting memory that would impair his HOF persona.

Well I was upset when we let him go but I'd have liked to have him back.

Thing is I don't like the depth here right now. Welker and Tate both went down last year and Branch has been pretty injury prone over the last couple of years. Edelman can't seem to stay fit. That leaves Taylor Price who hasn't seen a snap in the regular season. I wouldn't even consider Matthew Slater as a wide receiver.

I think that even if he was considered as the no.4 here I'd have liked to see him back here. We know from that press conference that he loved being here and its always been maintained by the Patriots that he was a thorough professional during his time here. And Moss never missed a game while he was here.

No its not fair to think that at all.

why not?

How many athletes in the last 5 or 10 years have also done this act ... publicly?

A grown man hovering between affection and rage is showing imbalance.

Done what? What did he do thats so outrageous?

It's time to develop the young receivers on the Patriots roster. Hopefully Taylor Price will start to contribute in the second half of this season, even though that may be wishful thinking.
