Antonio Brown says Butler has the makings of a great player...

Hopefully before the end of the season all this potential talk is done n over with and it's all action, potential can only go so far in the playoff's when it matters most, he needs to be elite status by then or we need to trade for a CB that can get it done

I don't think he needs to be elite...very good will suffice.

After watching the NFL Networks "Do Your Job" last night made me think that this kid is probably one of the best finds we have had in a long time... did a great job in that last series, and the whole game.

Must be nice to beat someone's ass all game then take the high road and say he's going to be a great player.

Many of Brown's receptions were in the flat or screens where there was no way Butler could affect the completion. In others Butler got picked or had perfect coverage yet Brown came up with the ball anyway. Butler did get burned a couple of times but the bottom line is he kept the #2 ranked WR (by the players) to one TD with 2 seconds left in the game.

This was a great first test for Butler, hopefully he learned from it. We will see how he does on Sunday. I have high expectations for this kid.

Butler is going to be solid in good time. He gave up some catches against Brown on Thursday night but, generally, he was always in very good position and Big Ben just threw Brown open. I don't have concern over him. It's the rest of the corners that worry me. I'd cut Bradley Fletcher today and drive him to the airport if it was up to me.

I think it is smart to have a corner like Fletcher that played in the NFC East since we are facing that division this year. I hope that with good coaching he surprises us all.

Coming from a WR who faces the other teams best CB every week this is good to hear.

There's a lot to be said for a young man who makes his spot on the team; makes the biggest play of the year; stay humble; and returns to make more of the same. Personally, I like (what I have seen of) Malcolm Butler as a person. And he's a great up-and-coming football player. Good on him. Don't lose what got you there, Malcolm!

If you read the article Trufant is considered GREAT. Look at his pairings - his worse % success rate is Antonio Brown at 50%. So a 50% success rate on Antonio Brown is GREAT. Butler did well.

Yep. Overall,I have no issues with Malcolm's play. A millisecond sooner he has 2 INTs

Dude, seriously, no. 2011 Revis was arguably the best corner in history of the game. Nobody is going to play near that level anytime soon, especially with these absurd rules. Revis is still an insanely, ridiculously good player. He is still one of the two best corners in the league.
I think he is significantly overrated at this point in his career. Posters act like he shut down every receiver and took them out of the game, and that is just not true. He played good coverage, better than the majority of CBs in the NFL but he did not shut down any player.

Mike Wallace – 7 catches, 81 yards, 1 touchdown

Dwayne Bowe – 5 catches, 81 yards
AJ Green – 5 catches 81 yards, 1 touchdown
Eric Decker – 4 catches, 65 yards
Alshon Jeffery – 5 catches, 59 yards, 1 touchdown
Demaryius Thomas – 7 catches, 127 yards
Reggie Wayne – 5 catches, 91 yards
Golden Tate – 4 catches, 97 yards
Jordy Nelson – 2 catches, 53 yards, 1 touchdown
Mike Wallace – 4 catches, 104 yards, 1 touchdown

Is that confirmed stats against just Revis, or are they just what those players got against us?

After checking, those stats does not look to be just when Revis where covering. But what the WR got all game. Which is completely irrelevant. According to NESN Revis allowed 37 receptions, 532 yards, 2 tds and a completion percentage of 47,5 with a QB rating of 67,9. Much better than the picture your stats paint.

Stats? Really? AJ Green scored his loan touchdown with Revis out of the game. Revis was not primarily on Alshon Jeffrey or Demaryius Thomas. Reggie Wayne's damage was done in the first quarter and a half and he was a non-factor pretty much before halftime. The same pretty much applies to Golden Tate and Jordy Nelson. We played A LOT of zone against the Jets and KC. He was being talked about as a possible MVP candidate at one point. So, I respect your opinion but using these flawed numbers is not a good way to back it up, IMHO.

Good to hear from a very good WR

Yeah man I think fletcher can serve a purpose as a back up but I really hate how he is essentially a starter because of how often they play nickel. Very disappointed in Logan Ryan, and bummed about Darryl Roberts I think that kid could be solid as well. Sad to see him go down so early

WTF are you trying to peddle here, B6/ What are the credentials of this Brown guy? Who the F is he? This is nothing but more crap from '"Patritot ball washers" crowd. You know who you all are. Me. I get my information from REAL independent sports journalists like Borges, Shaunnessey, and Tanguay, and THEY told me that Butler was a punching opening night, and that's ALL I have to hear.

So take that weak sauce, homer ****, and go somewhere else with it. And be thankful I don't bomb you with dislike and disagree bombs.

Antonio Brown is a beast. Already 100 yards receiving.

Antonio Brown is having a great day, today, against San Francisco. How many more before we say that his comments on Brown are legit?
