An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec. 6th

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

That's not what was going on. But you are too clueless to understand that. Fabricating stats and reality. Ignoring legitimate, civil responses that basically tear apart much of what was said. That's why you, EIFMP, and Sundayjack are being treated like Jet's Homers/Trolls. You'd know that if you hadn't skipped the entire 1st 10 pages of the thread.

SundayJack's already made my ignore list. I have a feeling that one, or both, of the other two will soon follow.

Jets weeks suck. It's probably just a natural extension of the Jets sucking in the first place.

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

well...just finished reading a good twenty of your posts in assorted threads...so, you are a Brady hater who thinks he has played poorly in a "number of games" this season, you think Wilson "did a great job" on Welker in week two and is a far better draft pick than McCourty and you think the Jets are superior to the Patriots in all three areas, offense ,defense and special teams. That about covers it I guess...thanx for the "input",not much more to discuss. See ya (or probably not see ya) next Tuesday for the post game discussions.

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

When you find a way to get it done, that usually means you outplayed the opponent.

Yes, True

WTF are you smoking?? The Steelers were not one of the lowest rated pass defenses in the league when the Pats played them. God, you just LOVE making things up.

As far as the Steelers passing yards allowed, I only know what they're ranked now (22nd) and not when you played them. But their secondary are substandard Troy P. or no Troy P. I don't love making things up because I am not.

*ROFLMAO* The Pats defense doesn't match up well with the Jets offense? I will happily disagree. McCourty on Holmes. Arrington/Meriweather on Edwards. Chung on Keller. I think that the Pats match up extremely well.

The Pats defense doesn't match up well with any offense. Especially any decent passing offense. I've offered statistics to say that the Jets have a good defense. I do this to not sound like a homer with out of left field ideas. Can the Patriots win? Of course! Do I think they will win? No I don't. A rookie CB will win his one on one match-up vs Santonio Holmes?Edwards & Keller abused you guys in the first game? But with a new receiving threat to worry about in Holmes... they'll do an even better job in this game? Explain that logic to me please. WHAT!?!?!?

Sorry, but the Jets D doesn't match up nearly as well against the Pats. You can think what you want. You've already shown yourself to be clueless and someone who doesn't bother to check his facts.

C'mon...Do you really think that Deion Branch will win his match-up vs Cromartie? What about Revis vs Welker? Now granted, if Tom has all day to throw then he's going to pick any team apart. But there is no way given the body of work Revis & Cromartie has put this season in that Deion Branch and Wes Welker will have a field day. Basically it will come down to the tight ends that give the Jets a hard time.

Responses in bold.

Can you show me an example of where I didn't know what I'm talking about?

Can you show me an example of something I made up?

Your first post in this thread covers both of these. And that's all there is to it. If you actually came to talk football, you'd have done so.

I am on a Patriots Message Board to discuss our upcoming game, because that is the purpose of one. It sucks that some people can't handle a discussion without crying about someone not agreeing with them.

You haven't shown you are here to do anything but troll. Sorry.

Again...what did I say that wasn't true? I'm just here to talk football.

Gee.. Your spin about saying that you meant against a 2010 ryan defense. Get real..

If you were here to talk football, you've done a poor job of it.

Sorry I forgot you had to have an account to access Member Profiles.

My account name on theganggreen is 624....so you were completely wrong in your assumption that I made a fake handle to hide behind.
Help me out:

When did I assume I did whatever it was that you think I did?

I don't even know how to respond; I never accused you of anything nor did I assume something.

But from your response, my first reaction is that you are perhaps feeling guilty and trying to cover something up, by deflecting attention away from something you actually did.

If you can find one single homer-ish proclamation by Sundayjack in this thread - or anywhere on this board - I'll leave you all to your own pocket lint and go away.

Asking for something of substance - beyond "Slauson sucks" - is not me saying "all Jets are awesome," (as one soft poster seems to think); nor is it me chest thumping about the Jets (as you seem to think).

I'm a mod. I know trolls. I deal with more Pats trolls on our board than you'll ever see on this one. I asked for a point to be justified. And thus it began. . . .

I'm sarcastic and snarky and verbose. I'm also respectful of this board. And, beyond all, I'm mostly right.

You'll do what you'll do, and all I ask is that you try to read my stuff a bit better.

Its fun to see Jets fans come to our board and get angry when we don't agree that their team is most definitely going to win :bricks:

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

I love the weeks we play these douchebags. Just out of curiosity since I've never checked myself, do we invade their team board like they do ours?
I don't. Why bother with such simple minds?

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

Ignore lists are chick$h#t. Just sayin'.

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

SundayJack made my ignore list as well.

It's unfortunate, too. As I noted before, he's been a worthwhile read in the past. He just decided he'd go the troll route this time around, for reasons I won't bother trying to figure out.

I'll take him off the list after the game. Hopefully, the next time the teams are getting set to meet, he'll go back to being his old self.

That ROOKIE won his one on one match-ups vs. Calvin Johnson, including taking a ball out of Johnson's hands for an interception. Why do you think the Lions moved Johnson over to Arrignton's side of the field. And Johnson is significantly better than Holmes is.

Edwards was being covered by Butler, who is now fourth on the depth chart. Keller was being covered by a LB, not a Safety in that game. Are you really that stupid that to think that BB isn't going to change things?

The Pats will use the same techniques they used against the Steelers to limit the Jets chances. And that is all they need to do. Limit the Jets.

Clearly, you put too much into what stats say and not enough into actually watching the games.

what Jet board? There's J.I. and Gang Green...there's practically zero Pat trolls on Gangrene and the two prominent Pats trolls on J.I. NEVER post here and never have. You are a pure pathological liar. I track all the crazed with jealousy Jet fans that use fake handles here and there's been literally hundreds of incarnations here this season that have simultaneously posted at J.I. the same phrases, catch words and ideas that they've posted here, most verbatim.

Now you've already been relegated to ignore by four or five of the more reasonable ,informed and normally gracious Pats fan members here...that in itself is quite a dubious accomplishment in one thread alone, especially for someone who purports to be a "moderator". I'm not putting you on ignore. I don't believe one should ignore a common liar.

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

This is a nice post. I enjoyed this.

Good, now go home. Everyone's putting you on ignore anyway (except me, since I can't be bothered to figure out how to do that).

Anecdotal. I follow both boards. We always get a new flood right around Jets-Pats time. Today was the story of a poster named Zeke_Mowatt, who signed up and posted a slew of gems about other posters' mothers before he was sent away.

Again, ignore lists are for sissies. Support your points and match snark with snark. If you've read with a decent pair of eyes, you'll see where it all started.

Keller had 7 catches for for 115 yards. It is absolutely fair to say that he abused the Patriots.

Edwards had 5 catches for 45 yards, with his longest catch being 13 yards, and he drew a pass interference penalty on a 23 yard attempt. Even tacking on the penalty, that would have been 6 catches for 68 yards, and he did most of his real damage on one drive (3 catches, 2 first downs and a TD).

How is that "abuse"?

Such thin skins around here.

So, here - I'll point this out for the final time - In a thread asking for a Jets fan's opinion "backed by stats," I was apparently brazen enough to ask for someone saying "Matt Slauson sucks" to support his own opinion with statistics, stories, jaunty tales, haikus - ANYTHING to support the bald statement. Got a nice attempt, but it took half a dozen posts to get it.

And then all sorts of lesser mortals who wanted in on the action surrounded me, shot, and got all flustered when I shot back. Ended up putting me on ignore; which, as you all know by now, is for sissies. I heated up when the firing started. I'm just better at it. And so it goes. . . .

Re: An NY Jets fan's opinion (backed by stats) telling why the Jets will prevail Dec.

I do not think that the Jets will 'walk all over the Pats'. I just am giving my reasons for a victory. I am stating how the Jets would/should take advantage of certain match-ups. I never said/typed anything about walking all over anyone. I don't think the game will be easy for whomever wins. I'm just giving my rationale for thinking the Jets will win. I am very much a homer with a Jets bias, but I come with statistics to back me up instead of just opinions.

I just HAVE to know now....what statistics did you bring to back you up before the Packers SHUT OUT your precious green beanies...on YOUR home field...AFTER two weeks of preparation due to a bye. You post and post and post all these cherry picked stats, some you admit are flat out WRONG, yet you STILL refuse to discuss the whitewashing put up by ZeroZorro-chez versus the Packers. Was the humiliation too much to endure so you have sublimated this episode deep down into your subconsciousness? After all, if you are going to use game after game stats to prove your contentions then you MUST use the Zero Zorro humiliation and home field debacle to even begin to be considered semi-rational.

Well...that game was a defensive struggle between two of the league's top scoring defenses. The Jets and Packers defense did their jobs. I can give you excuses for why the Jets lost.

I can talk about all the dropped passes or I can talk about the two "interceptions", "interceptions" in which the football was ripped out of the receivers hands while on the ground.

"Sanchez was 16 of 38 for 256 yards and two interceptions -- both on disputed calls -- and had at least four passes dropped by receivers. The Jets had a nice drive end in the fourth quarter when Dustin Keller caught a pass from Sanchez, rolled and then had the ball grabbed out of his hands by Charles Woodson. Replays showed it should not have been an interception, but New York was out of challenges after using them both in the first half."

I can talk about the decision of the punter to run the ball on 4th & 19.

"The Jets took a huge gamble on fourth-and-18 from their own 20 early in the game as punter Steve Weatherford took off on a fake and sprinted along the right sideline for what initially appeared to be a first down. But McCarthy challenged, and officials ruled Weatherford stepped out of bounds a yard short of the first-down marker."

Turns out that the punter said he A) Didn't know the down and distance and B) just went on his own without the Coaching staff's say-so/knowledge.

So Nick Folk misses a field goal and the Jets turn the ball over on downs.

Here is a quote on the Associated Press regarding what happened next:

"After turning the ball over on downs, the Jets held the Packers to a three-and-out and had one more chance to get into the end zone trailing 6-0 with less than four minutes left.Following a 5-yard run by LaDainian Tomlinson, Jerricho Cotchery couldn't hold onto a long pass from Sanchez, who was sacked on the next play by Matthews. Sanchez then threw incomplete to Braylon Edwards, and the Packers took over. Crosby sealed it with a 40-yard field goal with 27 seconds left."

So to recap:

Jets had more passing yards (241-156), rushing yards (119-81), out gained the Packers by 123 total net yards. Had a 3rd down efficiency of 41% compared to 14% for the Packers. But had two "interceptions" and a fumble that was lost. In essence we out every-thinged the Green Bay Packers. Turnovers doomed us. All three of the Packers scores happened when they got the ball on their side of the field.

Now Greg Jennings had 6 catches for 81 yards. I posted a stat earlier that says Revis held him down otherwise. Those stats I posed about Revis vs Andre Johnson, Megatron, Owens, & Jennings and holding them to 61 total yards is a stat I got from the NFL network. They showed the stats they had when Revis was covering them specifically. Those other yards Jennings had (apparently) were vs other defenders during that Jets game. Here is the video link supporting me.
