I feel like the general concencus around Patriots Nation is that this has been a terrible off season. I really couldn't disagree more. Sure we lost Revis and Browner and definitely don't have as good of a team on paper as last year, but that has not ruined the offseason for me one bit. This is the first offseason in 10 years I haven't woken up every single day thinking about the "what ifs."

-What if the referees didn't blow the call in Denver when Champ Bailey clearly lost the ball out of the end zone?

-What if Reche Caldwell could catch a football?

-What if David Tyree didn't catch a football off his helmet in the closing minutes of the game?

-What if Brady stayed healthy?

-What if the Patriots will never get back to being what they used to be?

-What if they could have just squeeked out that tough divisional game against the Jets?

-What if Wes Welker had a clutch gene?

-What if Gronkowski didn't break his arm?

-What if Talib wasn't a mental midget?

This offseason I wake up everyday with none of these thoughts. To be honest I haven't even really been thinking about football much. Every time I think about it I laugh knowing the Pats just beat the team Peyton Manning got chin checked by the year before. Football will get here when it gets here and for the first time in a decade, I won't wish my summer away.

Not everyone has to agree with me, but feeling any other way in my eyes is kinda hard to fathom. The perception of this franchise from jealous fans, former players, media, ect does not have any bearing on the way I feel about this team right now. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Lots of great reminders that we should feel good about last year's 2014 SB winning team, but some may argue that last year was last year, and that it has nothing to do with whether or not the offseason was a success.

Not meaning to sound negative, just pointing out the possible lack of relationship. I'm okay with losing Revis, but it is obviously going to hurt the defense. Only time will tell how the moves play out.

I don't think me not caring about the perception of what bias people think about the team makes me a sheep wich is what you are implying in this post. How can people crying over spilled milk ruin this for you?

So, @New England Pride, you are simply reminding us that the off the field issues shouldn't overtake the fact that our team is the defending champs then. It's more of what happened in the deflate gate saga vs. comparing the moves of the offseason in a team setting.

Just wanted to clear that up as the thread moves forward.

I think we all feel lousy about the snow job cast upon the organization, but yes--nothing should overlook the wonderful postseason and fact that Brady now has that elusive 4th ring.

I've barely put a single thought into the on the field product since the Draft because of this mess. I miss it. But I still need some form of closure first.

That not at all is what I'm implying. I simply illustrated that PudgeBob Short Pants has played us all for suckers and THAT is the elephant in the room of this off-season.

Yeah for sure. I definitely did want to re enforce that this 4th Ring should bring 100 times more joy than anything negative. Most of this negativity came from deflated (allegedly) footballs, but lost in the midst was the departure of our secondary. I think it's been a beautiful offseason despite the bad things that have happened. Nothing can really rain on my parade. We still have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

Good for you, I wake up everyday saying what if Jim McNally never went on a diet...

My other thoughts include - What if Jean Goodell swallowed instead.

Its sad how some people won't even enjoy the fact that we won the Super Bowl. They're just so focused on this whole saga that that's all they care about.

What if Viagra was never invented ....... would Kraft had paid more attention to fighting Goodell.

I've been watching last year's games that I had saved on my DVR. The thing that jumped out at me about the D was how often Browner's penalties hurt us by keeping drives alive for the opponent. We will probably be a work in progress in the secondary, but less penalties will be an improvement.

I think there are a lot of Seattle Seahawk fans playing the what if game this offseason. Better them then us.

One thing I will give the Seattle credit for is that their fans seem to accept that it was a bad play call or a great play by Butler. I have read a few Seattle comments and most have nothing to do with Deflategate or cheating rather they refer to the 10 point comeback and that their defence was injured. So I personally would give the Seattle fans a tip of the hat regarding their reaction to the Super Bowl loss.

I hadn't really thought about it but your right.

One of the greatest things about last year is that Peyton Manning will always be mentioned right after #12 regarding greatest QB's of all time, kind of like a modern day Jim Kelly.

OTOH it has cemented Brady as right at the top.. probably #2 all time when all is said and done, but Peyton does have really, really, really, really;) good numbers...

Absolutely awesome Post, my friend!! I love the way you went through 2005-2013 in chronological order.

I would agree with Supafly, mind you, that the term "OffSeason" as you've employed it is universally understood to refer to the Moves we made, not to whether or not we're basking in Championship Glory.

Even so, your Point is well taken: It is indeed awesome to finally be basking, once again!! :D
