Yea its been trending towards that. No other team values a big smart pass rushing ILB as much as the Pats do.

Fellow Pats fans I think I got it. Tomorrow, March 12th, is DH's birthday. He wants to do a reverse birthday tradition and give all Patriot fans a birthday gift and re-sign with the good guys. Just a hunch, but it could be gas.

I was just about to post that about his birthday. Great minds and all. But really, let's get it done already, I'm stressing way too much over it.

I think it's clear the team had a good feel for the market. Bennett didn't get the deal he was seeking, and it sounds like Hightower is realizing the market isn't going to be tremendously more than the Patriots offer.

Pats draft

#72- Sidney Jones

#96- Jake Butt

Both redshirt 1st years

I'm definitely on board with drafting Butt, but Jones scares me. Torn achilles in a CB is really rough, and recovery could easily extend into next offseason.

Be awful if he signs anywhere else but especially Dolphins

12.5 mil/yr would be a bad deal. I hope it's a lot less than that.

Its a little disconcerning that He hasnt resigned with us as of yet and the two teams in the hunt are warm weather team and ones his hometown.

I can't imagine he isn't here if the numbers are close.

He wanted to check the market. Let him do it. The Phish, Cards and Titans have given up; and the Steelers don't have the CAP room.

Report was Pats offered him $10m per before the season and that was the offer still on the table pre-free agency.. Ed Werder said on Thursday that the Titans would likely be out at $10m per and then in the last day a few of the Titans beat guys were very bearish on Titans signing him. The lolphins, report was they were trying to extend Alonso and just signed Timmons. Not sure they even have a spot for Hightower with Alonso, Timmons and Hewitt, apparently they are high on Hewitt. lolphins interest to me comes off more agent driven than anything. Especially seeing is how Hightower's agent is also Tannenhill's so i'm sure his relationship with them is good and i'm sure the lolphins are happy to let their name be used if it means Pats pay a little more.

Now you got Breer saying one team with with interest are convinced he is re-signing. Seems to me the team Breer talked to is the Titans.
